Ump is actually Harper giving his final 'gently caress you' to the nation.

I'm just now seeing the final score. How many consecutive singles did the Royals hit in the ninth?

Only two singles in the inning surprisingly. They scored on a sac fly and a three run homer.

Let's chalk this one up to "A win's a win," and get ready for tomorrow. More of the first eight innings, and less of whatever that last bit was.

That's so weird I was hoping to read like 3 consecutive infield singles followed by an inside the park grand slam on a ball that got wedged in the astroturf.

Actually you weren't that far off. First hit was infield single (albeit Goins made it amazingly close considering how far he had to range), then Smoak had a sharp grounder go right under his glove that would have likely have been a DP to start the inning, instead rolled to the wall so runners at 2nd & 3rd - ruled a double which was pretty generous scoring.

Then a deep sac fly, then grounder up the middle for the second run. Osuna came in and gave up the huge dinger (2run, not 3). So definitely some quirky bullshit to start the inning at least.

Ah I'd forgotten the second run scored before Morales went deep.
