ya what you thin kis being a "sarcastic rear end in a top hat" is just being an rear end in a top hat, without anything funny or redeeming in it

i am convinced that the whole boston thing is some kind of dark cloud that has been evolving over centuries, an ever growing accretion of human misery to which each boston native must inevitably adapt or die

how it began probably has to do with the weather

bostonians know nothing but this deleterious milieu, and believe that surely everyone everywhere and at all time has lived in exactly this state of abjection

so they can't understand why everyone isn't a psychotic black hole in human form

At least Bill Burr was wise enough by moving to LA once his career took off.

niiiiicee

since they repaved it couple years ago storrow drive east is fun as all gently caress to drive as if ur running the Monaco GP coming back from allston at 2am. ive heard similar things about the merrit parkway in CT but have never driven it myself, however i have heard that there are actually cops on some portions of that road and they know their stretch like the goddamn nurburgring and take pleasure in running u down at 140mph so dont even try (unless ur rich and being chauffeured to wall st.)

literally nothing about driving in boston is fun and it just proves you're a dangerous psychopathic rear end in a top hat that you think so

even the loving pedestrians here are suicidal lunatics who do their damndest to get into the blind spots of big trucks that would kill them, and who are constantly darting into the road like rabbits; the illegality pisses me off but the blatant disregard for their own lives really takes it to another level

i have to deal with upwards of thirty or forty psychotic driver or pedestrian maneuvers every day at work, bad road behavior that i barely knew was possible before i came to boston is now a multi daily occurrence

i totally agree and wouldnt ever own a car if i lived in the city, but gently caress dealing with the green line to Longwood Medical Area or Allston - so much faster in a car especially during off-hours.

I drove a delivery truck in Boston during college 10 yrs ago which was some of the finest drivers education within the USA, but with everybody staring at their phone (not to mention the loving hubway) no loving way would i ever do that again unless I ws driving something equipped with lights and sirens - sry dont mind pissing u off but i dont actually want to be liable for physically harming/killing ur dumb rear end.

naa those were never offered on Misubishi Fuso, Miata, or even the WRX...(and i am not a fan of serious road rage at all) just have to pretend ur JFK facing down Khrushchev when things get hot and heavy...make those assholes blink, if they are unrelenting then drive like ur are insane or or hard drugs. aint nobody wants to be exchanging information on the side of Storrow Drive or the Tip O'Neill Tunnel...esp with a basket case

i just drive a mercedes sprinter

or a small box truck, ie bigger than even the biggest dick swinging dodge ram, so i get to dictate the pace of the road to anybody who isn't a bus or a bigger truck

driving my actual passenger vehicle is a loving nightmare

eat or be eaten

also 2nd storrow drive (and memorial drive) as being fun as hell at 2am but I grew up there, had a car in the city, and first learned to drive on my dads manual 80s ford escort in that traffic. baptism by fire.

i don't know if this was always true but memorial drive is currently like 30mph speed limit and is the one road in the city where ppl actually don't speed? quite frustrating

also the lanes are narrow as gently caress so if anybody is nearby you can't really afford to push it

I don't know now but like 5 or 6 years ago that was a part of my commute from Cambridge to Norwell and I would fly both ways but I was also going the opposite direction of traffic (lived in cambridge yet worked towards the cape way south)

I lived in Boston for 3 years.

The people inside the city were fine but the outlying folks were terrible.

Bruins fans were the worst though.

I never understand when people say "people from this place don't know how to drive". Where is this magical land where everyone knows how to drive just the way you like it? I've been a few places and everyone drives like an rear end in a top hat from my perspective. How is Boston worse?
