tightening the rules is a bit of a double edged sword. since you can only pay attention to a limited number of posters at a time, you end up only actively paying attention to the people who say things you're interested in. these people are also the part of the community that most resembles yourself. if you then push these people out of the community because they don't behave exactly like you want them to, you also destroy your cultural link to the rest of the community the only purpose banning ultimately serves is to find people who fit your ideals, much like hitler would've done. hosed up

GBS is and always has been a toilet. Every now and then, you've got to clean the graffiti off the walls. No big deal. When it starts to overflow with poo poo though, that ain't the toilet's fault. Fix the sewer.

Mandatory discussion on a specific topic should be implemented and enforced on a weekly rotation. I.E., all threads need to be about monster trucks one week, then about grapes the next week. I think it would be fun let's do it

Lowtax says people who can't post well should close their browsers and go to 4chan/reddit. But how can they do this when their browser is closed? This should be either corrected to 'close all tabs that have addresses containing "somethingawful.com"opened in them' or an additional step (opening your browser again) should be added.
