Hello! Welcome to the official LGBTQ thread. In the interest of brevity, I'm going to refer to this as the "gay" thread, however even though I am a white cisgendered male please don't take this the wrong way! I support all five of the categories in LGBTQ equally and without reservation.

Let's start with the Kinsey Scale. Alfred Kinsey was a famous zoologist who was one of the first to seriously study human sexuality and same sex attraction. He came up with a scale that looks like this:

a visualization of the kinsey scale

A bit of a risque photo but I think it gets the point across! What he found is that many men and women who identify as straight - a surprising amount - had had same sex erotic experiences. This calls into question a lot of assumptions people used to have about the nature of sexuality!

Throughout time gay men and women have contributed much to our society. For example, Alan Turing helped defeat the Nazis by breaking their codes! He was really good at math - and also a serious cutie if you ask me!

alan turing

He killed himself after the United Kingdom forced him to take injections of hormones to cure his homosexuality. Truly barbaric and sad.

Gays are also known as some of the greatest historical figures in history. For example, Abraham Lincoln is widely suspected to have been gay, as was Alexander The Great

alexander the great

And last, but certainly not least, some of our greatest cultural icons are gay. Including Neal Patrick Harrison, Gandalf, Elton John and Carrie Fischer. Something about gays seems to make them better at the arts, acting, and music - maybe feeling like an outsider as a child helps one to develop a rich internal escape which produces creative external expression. But that's just my theory! I have no proof of this.

elton john

Anyway, I feel like we joke a lot in The Rowdy Trout about homosexuality but we should sincerely appreciate the contribution gays make to our world. Next time you see a gay person on the street, thank them for their service!

I'm definitely a number 6 but I'm not sure what the point of this thread is.

EDIT: Everybody already knows we're better at most things, seems like gloating to celebrate the fact.

He went over that quite explicitly. The T is for Alexander Turing, who killed himself.

I'm confused by this scale. Where does getting a beej from an asian dude while having your face ridden by some random girl you met at a party down the street while you're all high as gently caress fall?

I'm currently rolling a half-blorc (that's when an orc rapes a black woman) barbarian who is a 5 on the Kinsey scale. How do I adequately calculate my negative social modifiers? Do I go by race, species, or sexuality first for the social modifier calculations?

Turing may be cool but I saw a movie about him that implied he had the tism pretty hard and was insufferable so I'm kind of on the fence about the whole thing tbh
