I use mine in class to take noes with the little keyboard case thing. I use it for reading comics and for Remote Desktop to control my PC while I lay in bed so I can click Play on Netflix or start a torrent without moving.

I have a 10" Toshiba tablet running Windows 8.1, and it lets me read and do light computing tasks on the go without the additional weight that my laptop represents. If I don't need to do any sustained typing then the tablet is the more easily portable device. It's also a lot nicer for Internet browsing than my phone, although the phone does decently, too. And the Awful app is great.

Just got me a cheap LG android used one and it is nice and handy, much better than using my phone and the 8 inch screen is only a bit bigger than some of the phones I've seen. Plus for me it does anything a laptop can do.

My tablet is used for the following tasks... Bringing to school to use between classes because it's easier to carry around than my laptop. I also bring it to the pub for Interneting. I pretty much bring it everywhere with me. Reading my PDF textbook while on the train. Watching Netflix while I do work on my laptop. Two screens are better than one. Bejewelled and other games. I nicknamed my MacBook and iPad Betty and Veronica. Betty is the one who gets the real work done. She's sturdy, dependable and talented. Veronica, however, is super pretty and you really want to take her out everywhere. I think both are valuable, so I am the Archie in this situation.

I use my tablet for most things I'd use my computer for, except paying bills, photoediting, etc. When I was a student it was great to have a laptop, but now it just seems to be needlessly portable. I don't watch tv on my tablet tho, because of david lynch, and it I don't use it in bed, cause I'd never go to sleep if I did. Anyway, tablets are the new laptops, op is living in the past and I want a stationary computer but can't afford one right now. Thanks for reading

I've gone from a 15" laptop to a surface and it's just way easier to use the later. Only thing I lost is the ability to play high end games but I don't really need to do that outside the house anymore and don't play much anyway now so win win.
