Just got home and turned on the game, first time I've actually gotten home in time to watch anything since the opening game of the season, and the very first thing I see is Austin Rivers blowing a layup. Austin Rivers still has a job in the NBA.

Oh yea, go Suns!

Score at the half in Phoenix:
Denver - 28
Suns - 60

Hahahaha... Oh god, we are going to collapse and lose to Denver somehow in the 2nd half aren't we?

The Suns feed on Ballstreams is the NBA TV feed to.. Canada. It's so weird hearing the Suns broadcasting team, and then on commercial breaks, strange cheesy "shopping channel" style commercials for Canada.

Just looked at the standings for the first time this year.. what the hell, the Knicks have a better record than the Pels?

Knicks have had a nearly full roster. Pels have had to start their fourth choice at PG and backups at every position but SG for several games.

Ah, makes sense I suppose. I've unfortunately had very little time to watch the NBA so far this year, and really have no idea what's going on with the different teams right now, other than GSW is still rocking it.

Kibner posted:

The only healthy teams that are under-performing that I can think of are the Rockets and Grizzlies. Pels have just been playing games down 4 and 5 of their top 8 players.

I guess the silver lining for the Pels is that when they get all their guys back, their bench players will have gotten a lot of really valuable playing time and in theory should give them a nice advantage later in the season when their 2nd unit is on the floor.

There are 9 teams in the East with .500 or better records, and 7 in the West. This is the year that the East is finally better than the West!!11one!

Seriously, though, the East looks like it's really on the upswing.

This is the strangest thing I've ever read here. Seriously, this won't parse in my brain.

Is the Jazz / Hawks game going to be better to watch than the Blazers / Hornets when I don't care about any of those teams?

Man.. didn't get home until 10pm tonight so missed watching the Suns beat up on the poor Lakers. I don't even care that they are terrible, I can never watch them lose to the Suns enough.

Watching the GSW feed, and have to give props to the announcers. They note the huge disparity between free throws in the Raptors favor, and immediately say that the reffing has been solid and the calls were all good. Not often that the home court announcing team wouldn't be going off on the refs for that sort of disparity.
