Issue 3 and Issue 2 (regarding legalization of marijuana) are on the ballot today in the Buckeye State. I myself am not privileged enough to call my self an Ohioan but for those who are be aware. Issue 3 : Voting YES to Issue 3 would legalize marijuana and create 10 facilities across the state with exclusive commercial growing rights. The locations are spread out across Ohio and have big name investors including recording artist Nick Lachey and former NBA player hoops legend Oscar Robertson (didn't realize "The Big O" was still alive and a pothead ). Here is a list of the ten Ohio counties that would have marijuana growth, cultivation, and extraction (MGCE) facilities: Licking (teehee) Hamilton Lorain Clermont Lucas Delaware Summit Butler Franklin Stark If Issue 3 passes, marijuana would become legal 30 days after the election. However, also on the ballot is Issue 2: Issue 2, also known as the anti-monopoly amendment, would prohibit any petitioner from using the Ohio Constitution to grant a monopoly, oligopoly, or cartel for their exclusive financial benefit or to establish a preferential tax status. Issue 2 supporters assert that Issue 3 does create such a monopoly thus passage of Issue 2 would, in essence, neuter implementation of Issue 3 (assuming it also passes). In summation : If you want legalization of marijuana to pass in Ohio, vote no on Issue 2 and yes on Issue 3. If you want marijuana to remain illegal in Ohio, vote yes on Issue 2 and no on Issue 3. (Aka Bull Moose Party loyalist ) If both Issues fail, nothing happens ( THIS MEANS OHIO WILL STAY AS IT IS ). If Issue 2 and Issue 3 both pass, then the topic will likely be brought before the Supreme Court of Ohio (located in Licking, Ohio). Happy voting!!!! UPDATE! Well looks like Issue 3 will not pass: State Issue 3 Results: YES 930,971 NO 1,705,706 Ah, well...maybe someday. ShaqDiesel fucked around with this message at 05:11 on Nov 4, 2015 |

Voting today in favor of Issue 3, no on issue 2. Nick Lachey has been doing local commercials for how wonderful this would be for the Ohio economy. I have lived the last 13 years doing everything Nick Lachey has told me to do, and I'm not about to stop. They seem to be counting on this to pass, surprisingly, because there are billboards around Columbus telling where the storefront locations will be when this passes. As much as I'd love for it to pass, I don't have high hopes.

My favorite part of voting today is voting on both a bill creating a monopoly, and a bill declaring monopolies more illegal than they already are.

Ohio, remember to vote on your varied local politicians. They feature exciting races like Old White Man Financial Manager vs his opponent, Old White Woman Financial Manager. Sometimes you get a third choice, a Minority Man Business Owner.

I grew up in Ohio. I would love to see pot legalized there and maybe start helping that lovely state become good again. But this Issue 3 smells like poo poo. Tax the dang drug, don't give it to only the ten wealthy weedlords.

I say let cannabis get its foot in the door with a few dispensaries and then work on breaking down regulations after the fact i mean it works in every other industry and it benefits people who are caught possessing immediately which is a more beneficial result than being able to 420 blaze it at rock bottom prices.

I'm for legalized weed, but I hate constitutional monopolies. It seems to be the only way to get this stuff passed in Ohio though. The casino law that finally passed a few years ago did the same thing.

Methods that don't rely on a state mandated monopoly of resources. Every state government sucks dude, Ohio's just seems particularly malleable by the likes of Nick Lachey's weed cartel
