The average person has around 60,000 thoughts per day. Which of these thoughts are turned to action is a byproduct of our tendencies when having internal dialogue on what to do. Collectively, we can surmise, 54% more of Barton's thoughts are given to passion, persistence, and a desire to prove himself.

That translates into over 32,000 more “personal pep talks” than the average NBA player, based on measurable data. Clearly a boon for staying prepared, this competitive mentality also carries over when on-court as well. If you estimate the average NBA game to last about two hours, that's 2,700 more self-affirmations in the face of adversity than the average player – enough to make Stuart Smalley proud.

The entire situation for Simmons was not ideal. That reflects poorly on his decision making I suppose, but he wasn't put into a pro-style system where he was getting the ball in his hands every possession. Easy to blame player, but that's on coaching too...which seemed pretty awful from a man-management and x and o's perspective.

2 years away from draft Zingis. Bender is really raw and I don't particularly like the way he shoots the ball. The physical tools are all there, though!

I would rather have Murray, Dunn, and maybe Hield than Bender right now. Bender has the tools to be a great player in the NBA, but it remains to be seen if he'll ever realize them. His performance (or lack there of) this season has really tanked his value imo. Not an immediate NBA rotation player like Jokic or Porzingis

Givony like 'taking a stand on this' makes me really respect him a lot less. Since Draftexpress is so influential among people who don't really know what they're talking about (and a lot of people who do), he's really soured the narrative on Simmons. He makes Cowherd seem like the rational one in the interview on this page.

Simmons would literally be amazing on the Wolves. We're obsessed with outside shooting right now because the Warriors are winning the title with two of the greatest ten shooters in NBA history, but there will be other paths. With Simmons and Rubio, you'd have two of the top 5 feel guys at their position (Simmons comes into the NBA and slots in behind Lebron, Draymond, and Blake as the best PF passer in the NBA) and Simmons makes things so much easier for his teammates.

There's a knock on Simmons that he needs the ball in his hands to be effective or whatever, and I guess that's true, but he was an unbelievable passer out of the post in college and was fantastic in transition. When I see him, I see a skinnier, weaker, taller, and much more skilled version of Draymond Green when he came out of the draft. The way that he moves his feet on defense and offense and is constantly pressuring the defense with the ball in his hands makes up for a lack of elite spacing imo. Wolves would be lucky to have him.

I probably wouldn't want to trade out of this draft given the fact that so few teams have so many picks and the draft is so mediocre outside of the very top. Toronto is probably going to drop off a bit without Derozan and should prepare for the future. There are definitely good players out there, but most are projects or plug-and-play bench guys.
