I'm noticing that whenever we get a choice like this, Max will try to talk herself into picking the other choice no matter what, so that neither option looks "better" than the other. That said, I say we comfort her. We are better than Victoria, there's no need to stoop to her level.

I felt so achieved when I befriended Brooke.  Ah, the wonders of time travel. Also, re Daniel: "Paint me like one of your French girls." He' so creepy though. Realistically so. Ditto with the janitor. He's just plain nuts. X-Files nuts. I vote comfort. She doesnt deserve it, but Max isn't a terrible person. Also, that threat isn't good.

This is the developer's way of reminding/encouraging the player that they can rewind if they didn't like the immediate outcome of their choices or just want to see all options before committing. I seem to recall the prompts becoming more toned down in later episodes.

So as not to fan the flames of insufferable high-school dipshittery, I also voted comfort. Neat LP so far. I'm not sure I"d genuinely enjoy playing this game yet, but I'm hoping that the magic time powers eventually cause things to fly totally off the rails.

Interesting game. I've read a rather negative review of it, actually (won't link here because it contains spoilers), but needless to say, the reviewer definitely did not like the game. I'm curious to see for myself what they were talking about. Anyway, be a nice person and comfort. Even though it was totally your time-turning rear end's fault.

Hello nice thread! It's time for a  NEW VIDEO Today we get to know our fellow dorm-housed girls!I just wanted to note that this is probably our last slow-ish video of the episode! I got nothing as far as drama from my school since it was pretty dull despite having 30+ students in each class and had really strict rules. Anyway I would say that Max should do both of these actions, but that wouldn't be much of a choice now would it? So I say we Intervine since David seemed pissed at us from our first encounter anyway.

So I had Kaubocks point this out to me last night and I feel like it's important for me to highlight to the thread. If we choose to intervene, I'm pretty sure we don't keep the photo from the other choice. I know this directly goes against what we just learned, which is honestly kind of crappy game design, but I think the distinction is we only get to keep photos that the player physically gets to see. The player gets to see the journal photos so we keep them, but any of the offhand photos Max takes in alternate timelines that we do not see, we don't keep. Generally, try not to worry about the time travel "rules" as the game plays them kind of fast and loose to fit the narrative.

it's probably for the best to just assume the choice is "intervene" vs "do not intervene" That being said, do not intervene. We're already caught up in like seven layers of drama and I don't think pissing off the security guard any more is going to do us any good. I feel like thus far the thread's been playing Max as a fundamentally decent person, so Intervene seems like the consistent option. plus it seems like some serious poo poo may be going down with Kate. Max may need Kate's trust later on down the line. Obviously the security guy is a dangerous enemy, but we're playing a young adult photographer, not a licensed PI, so that kind of thinking probably shouldn't factor in. also, as expected, the principal is an rear end in a top hat who will be "concerned" about Max no matter what she does, and kowtows to the wealthy.

The Spirits Within line is bad, but I don't think it is as bad as Mighty Max's Gollum impression. A lot of problem's with this game's writing stem from the Mighty Max's internal dialogue being over-written. She's unable to just say "oh, there it is." Each line of dialogue tries to be memorable and forgets about the minutiae that makes up the world.

I really don't think I'd be able to play this without wanting to punch just about every character so far. Max included. Especially Max. So I guess it's realistic? Take the photo, using it as blackmail material seems perfectly in-character.

My vote is to intervene. We know Kate has been having a bad time from everyone and whilst maybe she's an awful person who strangles puppies she seems nice enough. Scaring the guard away means we have no proof but at least Kate knows someone's looking out for her and it might make her feel better which, from a purely selfish perspective, increases Max's social standing and gives us another friend we can rely on. It also fits in with how we have been playing Max. As for the security guard we've already learnt that he is out to get anyone no matter what they are doing and he would likely get mad at us for something else in the future anyway. It seems like some teachers don't take him that seriously, so any accusations from him probably won't hold up (it's not like we did anything wrong by confronting him anyway). The picture also doesn't really prove anything aside from the fact he talked to Kate. As for highschool drama I have a lot of stories. It seems like the majority of highschool drama fits in to one of two categories (most of the time both); overreactions and petty bullshit or sex based scandals as featured in this episode. One of the major dramas that fits in the second category that I can remember was a girl who made some home made porn between her and her boyfriend and put it up on her private blog. One of the boyfriend's ex girlfriends was stalking this girls blog and re-uploaded it onto Facebook and thus it quickly spread around the school. It spread like, well, porn in a highschool and people were watching it during lunch (which was weird). It comes to me after writing this that highschool dramas are always more entertaining when you are at highschool.
