Just in case someone skips over all that: Stress test is starting tomorrow the 12th and lasting until the 14th. You'll get to see all the new changes and whatnot. Top and mid level founders packs only I think though until the beta phase opens on the 23rd-25th.

Holy heck that forum drama. Is that what UO was like? I was like 14 at the time and didn't have my own PC (super poor.) Kinda feel like I missed out. Should I spend 100 of my "hard" earned dollars on a founders pack

Kinda feel like I missed out. you only need 30 to play during this upcoming CBT but if you like the list of perks you get for the 100 dolla pack, then yeah e: consider using a referral link in the 2nd post for some additional cash shop currency on release

I ALMOST bought one for Landmark, really glad I didn't. Plus I think Next is going to end up being vaporware since they've hardly released any info on it. Their loving tie-in app barely works too.

Where's that guy with The Dude avatar to come bitching about his loving archeage founders pack? I haven't read about it in at least 3 days. Yeah I'm not dropping $100 to play a beta, that's silly. $30 for 3 months of a game seems more than fair though if goons manage to get along for that long.

I bought Albion since I'm in for the longhaul though. It seems much more in line with what I expect from an MMO than any other option currently available, and it's certainly the most polished/closest one to being finished I can see. This weekend stress test you can get in with the $50 package, and next week you can get in for $30. Free to play is still probably 3-4 months off at least. The $100 pack at this point is more of a "support the devs" pack unless you really want a headstart or gold trim around your name and avatar portrait. None of the other stuff really matters in the long run, though the $100 pack's ox and horse can help greatly at the very start of the game. Assuming they stick with $5/mo subs: You get ~$65 of gold/subs with the $100 pack, ~$30 with the $50 pack, and ~$15 with the $30 pack. The game is very playable. Most of the rest of the work to do is balancing and making sure there's plenty of things to go out and do in the world. Overall I think they're headed in a good direction and we know enough to be able to say there's not going to be major hidden problems in the future parts of the progression a la Darkfall Online. There's some jank and confusing decisions for how to lay out progression, but it's handleable and the latter is mostly a one-time speedbump.

I played this some over the summer. I thought it was pretty good. Reminded me a bit of eve but in a fantasy setting. I really like the fact you can play however you want without classes, and I seem to remember crafting actually being fun and good. Blazing, you should really emphasize that this is not a mobile MMO. A lot of people seem to be turned off by the fact that you can log in through your phone/tablet. It's a really nice convenience feature for crafting/socializing/gathering but I certainly wouldn't want to play it off of my Nexus 6P. Maybe it'd be nice on my Nexus 9, but it's certainly not the ideal form factor.
