King of the Hill is a great watch-over-and-over, because every time I watch it, I get a new joke. "Bill, look, your shoelace is untied" "Nice try, but I removed the laces from these shoes" so... good... (Bill is so prone to feeling suicidal that he had to remove the laces from shoes he wears every day)

I'll never not laugh at that episode where Randy Travis unabashedly keeps ripping off PEggy's life to make song lyrics. Awww, heck, I'll never not laugh at everything in that show. So good.

Peg is a great character because she's Bill's foil; she's almost talentless but gets a shitload of success because of her self-confidence, while Bill is great at almost everything but is such an unconfident sadsack that he's, well, Bill. Idk why people want more KotH, it was clear the writers were starting to wear out the premise, be glad that they ended on a good note and didnt become The Simpsons. Good example of losing their touch: the organic co-opt episode burns through like 6 good ideas for a whole episode to create a mediocre "things happen, Hank goes Bwaaah! A guest." Episode.

Hank's anger management class was an amazing episode, for both character development and the throw away joke of "This says Chick Mangione, I'm not a chick I'm a dude" and then he hits the teacher with his horn

I've always thought king of the hill was the most clever and good animated show. When most cartoons were trying to one-up each other with outrageous yeah-I-went-there monkeycheese jokes after family guy got big, King of the Hill maintained its well written and understated form of humor which has aged so much better Also anyone who has ever lived in Texas knows that it is extremely accurate in its portrayals of the local characters and culture. Spot on Texas which is applaudable because it's so much easier to try to just parody the stereotypes rather than really represent the subtleties. Peggy trying so hard to fit in with closed groups of asshats is perfect. I think Peggy is such a perfect character, she is so naive and pathetic but earnest, it's really endearing. Growing up with fanciful and eclectic personality in a small Texas town, I felt a lot like a mix between Bobby and Jospeh. Privately I was like Bobby but socially like Joseph. I think the show takes a little getting used to and it does work a lot better with adult sensibilities, it's like a fine high class box of wine
