The Mikasa is a proud battleship that shall humble the Russian bear, goddamnit. It is no mere 'armored cruiser'. :colbert:

Isn't this the time when for the most part you just avoided decisive battles because no-one could really force the other to an engagement unless both decided to take it?

Might as well be as Japanese as possible when playing Japan. Decisive Action.

Man, the game deciding to throw us against America and everyone stealing our capital ships sucked.

So, will we finally get a war with Russia?

We need to make them sadder to feel good about ourselves. :japan:

Something will happen and Britain will declare war on us, moments ahead of France.

And then our ships will all explode in the harbor.

It kind of sucks for the dude brave enough to jump on a torpedo for his ship that it ended up accomplishing nothing.

Good god that's an ugly ship.

Lattice masts are almost as bad as pagodas.

Did you just say Pagodas are bad.

Gentlemen, I believe we have a foreign spy. No grateful subject of the Empire would ever disparage the best part of the boat.

So, what brought about the transition from B to BB, exactly? What had previously been stopping people from equipping large ships with a uniform caliber main battery and were there other major innovations involved in making a Dreadnought?

It's not the correct ship until they raise Yamato from her watery grave. :colbert:

Like no seriously, the LDP is actually still trying to make this a thing: http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2015/07/28/national/history/ldp-lawmakers-aim-raise-battleship-yamato-wreckage/

Why would anyone be proud of the Yamato, it was a completely worthless boat that mostly achieved running away from some escort carriers and destroyers, and then being murdered by planes.

Like, it was a giant waste of money, resources, and lives that accomplished pretty much nothing. Which I suppose is a pretty apt metaphor for Japan's mid-century imperial ambitions, at least.

Wouldn't the Japanese be restricted to making a non-functional showboat anyway

So, a Yamato.
