I don't comprehend the Penguins' love affair with Scuderi either. It's not just Johnston, Rutherford is constantly singing Scuderi's praises whenever asked about him and the Pens' TV guys spend half of every broadcast verbally fellating him. It's bizarre. Respected Veteran and all that but we are way, way, way beyond Has-Been status. He was done last year. DONE. And he's only gotten worse this year. And they keep playing him 20 minutes a game and on every single PK while at least two defensemen who are very clearly better are in the minors. It's hosed up. Rutherford didn't even sign him, he could easily chalk Scuderi up as his predecessor's mistake and move on from him. But

That's well and good but Scuderi is so bad that if he refused to be traded he should just be released. Or scratched or waived or whatever the hell you're allowed to do to get a player who can't play anymore out of the lineup. The money is shot to hell either way, making good NHL-ready prospects waste their time (and team control) in the minors so he can keep playing every goddamn PK is next-level retarded.

I dunno, overall the Penguins just don't appear to give a poo poo tonight and every team has about 8 of these games a year so I'll try not to get too worked up about it. Letang's been bad all night and I'm being serious when I say I hope he didn't get concussed at some point early in this game or late in the Habs game.

I like how Scuderi casually clears the puck down ice as though they were leading by 2 goals instead of trailing by 2 goals with 5 minutes left in the game. It wasn't even enough of a time-waster to allow a shift change.

Definitely the Pens' worst game all year, and that's saying something. It's just been an endless series of opposition scoring chances. Many of them shorthanded. Against one of the worst teams in the league. If MAF weren't playing out of his mind they'd have lost this game 6-0. Spoilers: At some point this year MAF is going to stop playing out of his mind. I actually think when that happens they're going to lose five straight games by a combined 27-6 or something and that will finally get Johnston fired.
