Majora's Mask really was the odd duck in the series. The whole game world there just feels tense and sick, and even in the beginning, when things are more lighthearted, you always have the feeling that it's not going to last.

Plus it's got poo poo like a monkey slowly being boiled alive by the dekus. :stare:

Majoras mask is the best and smartest in the series by far. You gain progress by helping people make peace with their inevitable death. Everyone is blissfully and willfully ignoring the end of the world until the very end, where they're huddled inside weeping. drat that was a weird game for a kid.

yeah, i watched a lot of let's plays back in 2011/12, and i remember watching a Majora's Mask one (i forget who played it, maybe AttackingTucans?). it really did look fantastic and well-made to 14 year old me, especially the things you said

that was always the worst part about replaying zelda64. it wasn't really hard per se but running around with iron boots in lake hylia and some of the underwater stuff was boring+annoying+desolate as gently caress.

I liked it more than Wind Waker, which I slogged through a second time with a shittier controller on the wiiu. So TP will probably be a hit.

All the Zelda games are great choices and none of them are too difficult except maybe Zelda II: Adventures of Link, but it's only medium as far as NES hard is concerned

However the Zelda games that are not the greatest but still good include Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and maybe Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks

Honestly I'm not even sure what the gently caress went wrong with that. Like it should have been a better looking OoT fun zelda game and nearly had that all... but somewhere 1/4th of the way through you forget you even own the game and then like 2 years later it's like: hey look I have this twilight princess game, I probably should finish that not sure why I never beat it oh well maybe later...

n64 was maybe the peak of 'party games' like the mario party ones, goldeneye, bomberman 64, it's very possible you are an only child with few friends *aggressively sniffs though the bars of my cell*
and use evion skin cream

also gamecube owned big time, technically you can play a bunch of zelda games if you have certain old rear end pre-order discs that are expensive now, as far as regular releases go you can play wind waker or twilight princess
