I tend to buy plain greek yogurt and understand its slightly bitter. I bought a cheaper brand and thought it was spoiled.

Greek yogurt is just regular yogurt with a shot of vinegar mixed in.

Probably has something to do with the competition having the market for non-dessert flavors covered. Chobani and Fage sell normal flavors and they're both doing great. Wasn't Dannon the last to jump on the bandwagon here in the US? Googled them and they started the brand in 2011 which was way behind the trend. Wikipedia says Chobani failed in Canada and lost their license there in 2013.

Dannon's triple zero greek is honestly the best choice I've seen. It's marketed to men I guess and has less sugar than any of the other brands which are all marketed to women.

Something I've noticed since moving to Texas from Canada is that it's much harder to find full fat yogurt in stores. The yogurt section at my Kroger has tub after tub of 0% fat yogurt in all different flavours and brands, but they only sell one kind of yogurt that's got actual fat in it. Even that's not a very high quality kind, but I really do think you need a decent amount of fat to make it taste good.

i think dannon has teh shittiest greek yogurt because in order to save money instead of removing water/increasing protein they jsut pump it up with extra thickeners like xanthan gum and slimy garbage like that

I like the key lime one because it's not fruit on the bottom but they're all pretty good TBH. Cafe latte is OK, there used to be a coffee yogurt craze back in the day so it's nostalgic.
