I like naps very much. Some times I will lay down on my couch and nap while I listen to This American Life on my local NPR station. I find them relaxing and refreshing, and my cat also likes to take naps too. Sometimes I will wake up from a nap, and not realize that I had taken a nap. I call those types of naps, "rogue naps," because they're unexpected. So, lets discuss how we like to take naps, how we feel about naps, the types of naps we take, and any tips and tricks you may have for improving our collective nap experience.

A couple days ago I laid down on my living room floor and next thing I knew it was 1am and I had been sleeping on the floor for 4 hours.

Guy who sits in the cubicle next to me often nods off in the middle of the day. I'm actually jealous of his ability to do so, but he clearly suffers from sleep apnea based on how fat he is. I guess it isn't worth getting fat(er) just so I can nap anytime.

I like to nap with the tv on, preferably a show about ufos (not ancient aliens, don't care for that one).

I am very sleepy right now, and I too wish I could take a nap right now.

Had a job once where every other day I could leave for lunch and nap at the pool next door, take a shower after and be back at work in like 65 minutes. Highly recommend napping during lunch at an office job.

This is why it is The Worst Thing when you're trying to get to sleep at night and you just barely nod off before something wakes you up. You just had an accidental powernap and now you're not getting back to sleep for hours.

Naps are great. A good nap should last 3-4 hours at a minimum. The best naps are on a cool fall or spring day with a light breeze and an open window and some heavy blankets and also some pain killers.
