Why does everyone think I'm going to get in trouble?

It's a little early for a new update but I had this lying around. Jobbo_fett maaaay have found something even more extreme than some of Wei's environmental kills.

Yeah, I'm almost definitely buying it from the sale. I normally don't go for these GTA style Sandbox city games, but something about this one always draws me in. I think it's that they did so good a job at making HK feel real and alive.

Also, during that mission with Calvin, I liked how the second police car got wrecked by literally crashing into the first police van. I think you missed that happen.

I'm pretty tempted myself. The scarcity of firearms and a setting you don't really see much definitely makes it more interesting to me.

Regarding hair colour in China: I can only speak for being in northern mainland China, but there, you will often get looks in public for being blond. More broadly, the less touristy the place you are in, the more you'll be noticed for not being Han Chinese.

That said, blondes still get the most attention - as a brunette, I would constantly get ignored in favor of the blonde people I was there with, who would get solicited for photos fairly often.

Yeah, that's about what I'd expect. I imagine it's roughly the same for most East Asian cultures.

Watching this I kinda want to kick myself for not buying it when it came out. (Yeah i know i can probably get it for cheap on steam, but I cant justify purchasing yet another game when I got lots of unfinished ones right now.)

It looks real fun, and I love the setting! The hand to hand fighting looks fun enough to justify the lack of guns.

Yeah, I got it in the steam sale, it's only seven fifty right now. I'll probably play it tonight for the first time. Like I said, I don't normally go for these types of games, but something about this one specifically draws me in.

So I've started playing a little finally. Mostly my game has been "Wei's wild Hong Kong Shopping Trip" but I'm liking it. Also a tip to help with the police exp...first do the mission that has you beat up some alley thugs and grants you the forensic outfit. This outfit grants you double police exp at the cost of zero triad exp. You don't have to wear it yet. Go on the drug bust missions. You have no time limit, so drive slow and careful to the location. After you've set up the camera, carefully go back home. NOW change into the forensic suit if you haven't already, as you should already be still at full points. Do the camera part in outfit, and you'll be rolling in EXP. I NEVER get good police scores on ANY driving mission, so this is a good way to catch up.

The Drug busts alone mean you're never hurting for cop EXP, it's triad EXP you'll run short of in the main game.

Yeah, I've managed to max out triad EXP exactly once in my three or four playthroughs, and that happened after the last story mission in Definitive Edition. I most likely could've maxed it out a bit earlier had I used the EXP-boosting gear, but no self respecting Hong Kong gangster wears puffy vests so that was out of the question. :colbert:

It wasn't just business, not even just personal, it was double-personal and there'a no handler in the world who can keep that reined in. Heck, from Dogeyes's begging it sounds like he didn't just hook up with Wei's sister and get her into drugs, but used the drugs as leverage to get her to screw Big Smile Lee.

It also makes sense that no one would think it was Dogeyes at first, because there is no way he'd be dumb enough to take a shot at Uncle Po. The fact that he was being used as part of a power play by Big Smile Lee is what makes the wedding actually make sense.

I can't find the video now but in the original version of sleeping dogs helmets would persist. Someone made a video of getting new helmets from a bike for about half an hour, making a massive pile of helmets before the game crashed.

Less screw Big Smile Lee, and more that Lee gets a lot of his money from prostitution, pornography and human trafficking (pretty sure that Jiang implied/stated that). So less Lee himself and more a thousand guys to make money for Lee in exchange for drugs.

So yeah, Dogeyes and Big Smile Lee are not Wei's buddies.
