1983, Berlin. You just woke up to see the sun shinining, the birds singing, falling rubble almost crushing a kid just outside the window and - I guess the last one isn't part of a start of a good day. But it's just what life here in Berlin is like at the moment. It's just sort of gotten... normal. Scraping by in a city half ruined, with the americans and the soviets staring each other down in their tanks... life just goes on. But, you just found out something incredible: You can change this mess. You have been given the power to do so. Magic. In fact, this opened your eyes: You now see the world as it really is. You're not alone with the rubble. From the death, destruction and misery of the people, vile beasts have arisen, and they threaten all: Your friends, your family... and also your enemies. What will you do to make this city a better place? Will you even bother? What is this? It’s a Magical Girl game, obviously. It’s going to be middle of the road, not sunshine and flowers, for sure, but it won’t be Madoka either. It really is going to depend on where you, the players, bring it. Don’t worry too much about fitting into the setting or german culture! I picked this setting for the conflict it provides. We will be using Magical Burst version 4, which you can download legally for free from the creator's blog: I will be taking between 4 and 6 players with recruitment closing at on Friday, the 4rd of December. In addition to contacting me in this thread, I will be available via PMs and will also hang out on irc, channel #Krampusnacht for quick communication about this game. Setting: The game will be set in Berlin, 1983, in the middle of the cold war. The city got bombed to poo poo in the Second World War, but rebuild is progressing, if tediously. Well, it would be going faster without you magical girls hopping around, blowing up a few houses with your friendship and then disappearing. The fact that both sides blame those incidents on the other and start the hostilities all over again doesn’t help either, but hey, not like you can do anything about it. After all, your Erzengel, Azra, gave you this power for a reason. And that reason is to slay the Hexenkinder, the evil beings that eat humans. Such petty concerns such as war are beneath you… or at least, so Azra says. Are they really? Character Creation: PDF has a pretty good guide on this. Magical powers such as "Weave of Fate" and "Time Travel" are forbidden, because they’re basically there to make the GM cry. If I have a problem with the character you've submitted, I'll make sure to let you know via PM or IRC as soon as possible, so it can be changed before any deadlines. The PCs have, as of game start, already made their contracts and become magical girls, with a shared Erzengel (Tsukaima). You’ve all contracted very recently (Around a week before at most), so you have very little experience as a Magical Girl. In addition to the 13 Steps, please provide the following: An NPC that you would want to interact with (for Relationship purposes when players are chosen) A picture for your char. Doesn't matter if it's their mundane form, their magical form, or both. We just need one for the relationship chart later on. Which side of the conflict are you stuck on? (west Berlin (USA occupied), east Berlin (soviet occupied) or Soviet occupiers and their kids. You don’t have to fill in gaps here but I’d like a mix of all 3 of these if possible, for story purposes. Yami Fenrir fucked around with this message at 22:57 on Nov 25, 2015 |

Ilya Yurievna Leskova I am sure you already know this, but nothing I tell you leaves these walls, yes? It is dangerous enough, what I do in secret, even if the cause is righteous, but if my family were to ever hear of this... Let me be clear. My father worked hard to be posted here, and he is a good man. Any failure, from him or his family, could see him purged from the party, and all of us sent to Siberia, all our hopes and dreams wasted by the petty cruelties of strangers. Yes, many Berliners would be glad to see us gone - as far as they're concerned, all of us Soviets are invaders and tyrants, and it saddens me to see the distrust and fear and hatred they have for us, when we are trying, as best as human beings can, to make things better than they were before. My grandfather fought in the Great War, and he made his son (my father) swear to do all he could to make the world a better place, that we may never go back to such horrors. I swear the same thing, to fight with all my heart to free this world of the shackles placed upon it. How could any righteous person do any different? The world needs a revolution, and it begins here, in this city that so neatly divides the world into NATO and Warsaw Pact; Democrat and Communist; that turns brothers against brothers and friends against friends. I will bring the revolution this city needs. quote:What kind of girl are you? Gretchen Keller Guten taaaaag~! My name is Gretchen! I'm a third year at the Berlin University of the Arts, up-and-coming photographer, and connoisseur of fine ales! There's nothing I like more than going out to the bar and having a good time! Ehh...it's not great when I'm hungover before classes, though. Anyway, I was walking back to the University on a Saturday night when this creature appears in front of me. I had to make sure I wasn't too drunk, but it was actually there! It asked me... "Do you want to save your city?" And I had to think about this. Of course I would like to save Berlin. The town is split in two across that nasty wall, and each side is against the other. But the creature said that this was regarding another threat. These...monsters eating humans. Not knowing what else to say, I said yes. And, well...I saw that a lot of damage being done to our city was because of this secret war. And it was then that I decided to help end this fight. And getting a wish in the process is just icing on the cake, ja? quote:What kind of girl are you? quote:

Cosmic Blossom Fearless Clara Clara Regenbogen has always aspired to be the best at anything and everything she set her mind to. This translated most often into athletic pursuits, but she tried not to be a bullying jock. She wanted everyone, including herself, to be the best they could be, and so she would frequently take time out of her own training to help others improve. She did make more than a few rivals, but Clara always struggled to be honest and honorable with them. She was particularly successful on the track team, and had plans to win as many Olympic track and field events as she could. She never cared about politics; competing in the USA or the Soviet Union or wherever would all be the same to her, as long as she got to set everything she had against everything others had. That was where all the thrill came from. Those dreams ended the day the roof collapsed. Clara thought she would die for the agonizing days it took her family and neighbors in East Berlin to dig her out, and in her darkest moments, she wished she had. With her body broken, not only could she no longer engage in any of the activities that had defined her life, but she was now completely dependent on others for her most basic care. Over the months that followed, many of the team and class mates she had trained and mentored came to bring her and her family extra supplies, to keep her company, and to offer their own support in turn. Although she alternated between overwhelming gratitude and unbearable shame, she may not have been able to power through the despair without these visits. Her determination played a large part too, and perhaps that was why the Erzengel came to her. When it offered her the chance to walk again, to be as good as she was or maybe even better, Clara could not agree fast enough. It does involve fighting monstrous witches, true, but in her mind, that's just another thing for her to strive to be the best at. Now she has left home, unwilling to burden her family a second longer. They already struggled enough before her accident. To her, they deserve a break. It will make her tougher to survive on her own anyway. Now she just has to avoid anyone tracking her down until she can find these “Oblivion Seeds”, make her wish, and be whole again. Then she can go home with her head high. quote:Kind of girl: Athletic star quote:Specialization: Witch quote:An NPC that you would want to interact with (for Relationship purposes when players are chosen) Orbs fucked around with this message at 08:41 on Nov 30, 2015 |

Spooky Girl Living a normal life just never made sense to me. I would wish for our species' science fiction future to come true. Element: Vacuum Weapon: Hypertech handgun Power: Talk to anything Costume: Yellow and grey sci-fi heroine costume with bunny ears Crisis: My father's weird stories are coming true, and they end with an apocalypse It's hard to make friends when you're a teenager and you have strong opinions on SI units of measurement, but that's the kind of life that Lisa Hase has chosen for herself. Lisa is split between two worlds, of a sense. Her mother is a member of the American administrative staff in West Berlin. Her father was an aspiring science fiction writer and native of the city, until he fell off the western Wall coming back from an illicit party in the no-go zone beyond the reach of the West Berlin police. With her father dead before she was born, Lisa was mostly raised by a revolving collection of nannies and soldiers' wives from USAB and her father's collection of science fiction. Lisa really just has one friend, if you'd call it that. Theresa is Lisa's pen pal, met through the letters pages of Omni magazine, who lives somewhere in the vicinity of Exeter in the West Country. Theresa is, to Lisa's estimation, honest and simple, while the English girl frequently mentions how exciting the German-American's life must be. Lisa doesn't fully understand what her friend's estimation is based on, but she doesn't understand a lot about other people. Raised on a diet of science fiction and social isolation, Lisa thought herself a fairly rational person. Things are less certain recently. Not more than a month ago, she discovered a set of her father's manuscripts she'd never seen before. They described in shocking detail things that happened almost two decades after his death. There are three more stories in the series yet to come true, and the last one goes out with the end of the world. Coincidence isn't causation, or even correlation, but it's alarming, at least. Then Azra showed up. It spoke, and that was odd. Then it offered her a deal, and then pretty much anything would speak if Lisa asked. Other strange things began to manifest in her life. At this stage, Lisa is unsure if she is quietly going insane or just expressing unprecedented psychic phenomena. There are others like her, too. In fairness, they could also be insane, or just figments of her diseased mind. They could, in theory, be friends. - Lisa's stake in the conflict of East and West is limited to the degree it provides for her and her mother. She's read enough Carl Sagan to believe that the continued existence of the Soviet Union and the United States constitutes an existential threat to humanity. The two superpowers are useful entirely for their ability to get humans off the surface of the planet and into space. - Lisa sat down with a calendar and a copy of Starlog one evening, and plotted out when she wanted to take a trip back to the States to see her grandparents. This makes her one of the only teenagers in Berlin to have seen Return of the Jedi, which delights her to no end. - Theresa (No picture known) Theresa is Lisa's pen pal, having established a relationship via the pages of a science fiction periodical. She actually lives in Torquay, but the map Lisa used to check the mailing address wasn't very detailed. Theresa is the second child of two members of the local tourist trade. Her older brother has been experimenting with opioids as of late, although their parents are not yet aware of this fact. She is a good deal more perceptive and intelligent than her pen pal realizes. Her interests are substantially more diverse than Lisa's, including the history of Devon and Roman Britain as a whole, caving, handicrafts, and calligraphy. Theresa aspires to be a writer one day. Lisa has not mentioned her recent interactions with Azra, nor her newfound abilities. Theresa firmly believes in the paranormal, and would be all too willing to provide a credulous ear for Lisa should the occasion arise.

Azra hums quite happily as she watches over her newest crop of Magical Girls. Clara Lisa Hase Paige DeSantis Natalie Haas/Hass (Pick one, damnit) Gretchen Keller Ilya Yurievna Leskova These are her newest proteges. https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1UuJMxZbbeOROL0wYXm1ylhVf_JorFr11tD9fW6GeFFI/edit Relationship template is here, please add a picture for everyone (Including Theresa, Grassy Gnoll. Just put a pen or something). We'll do Relationship in 3 rounds - this means you can spend 4 points per round, BUT the limit of relationship ranks in creation is still 3, keep that in mind. I also want you to create at least one other NPC (on top of the one from your app.) Don't worry about any particular order, just do your relationships as soon as possible - Though keep in mind you get only one turn per round - I'll post when everyone else has done their turn. Don't just edit the stuff into the doc, though! Keep a proper log in this thread. Otherwise, it will get messy quickly. Something like: +2 points to [NPC] +1 points to [PC 1] +1 points to [PC 2] Also, the NPC from your app has to get at least one point during relationship creation. Some fluff as to why you've got a bond with the people in question would be nice, too! Keep in mind NPC's you create here need a picture too! Clara's relationships, round 1: +2 points to Joanna. Best rivals forever. +2 points to Natali. Clara once heard Natali performing during a particularly strong bout of hopelessness, and the inspiring music helped pull her back from the edge. Clara has definitely expressed appreciation, but not the full extent of it yet. EDIT: Here's my other NPC: The son of a Soviet occupier, Yuli developed a huge crush on Clara years ago, before she was crippled. Unlike a lot of boys in the same neighborhood, he kept coming to see her even afterwards. Clara definitely appreciates that, but whether or not his feelings are reciprocated is something she hasn't considered. He is a quiet and un-athletic guy, quite unlike her usual type, but maybe that's part of his appeal. Orbs fucked around with this message at 07:04 on Dec 5, 2015 |

Sofie is my best friend - and yes, I do have friends who aren't Russian or Magical Girls! Her family were welcoming when mine first moved to Berlin, and she helped with my German, all the slang and idioms that a teacher cannot really get across. We've been good friends for years, now. First of all, my bad, it should just be Haas. Second, hi again Klingon, we've gotta stop getting into games together . So, relationship/NPC stuff: New NPC, hot off the presser; Vivian Bleier A friend of Natali's at school. While younger than her, Vivian never ceases to impress Natali with her knowledge and patience. The two of them met when Natali decided to stop some kids from making fun of her last name. They were claiming she was a "Bliar, bliar, pants on fire," when she mentioned that she had gotten nothing but perfect marks up until now. Natali stepped in, her would-be bullies ran away, and the two seemed to bond from that day forward. She's too nervous to skip school with Natali, go to her performances, but she has heard her music before. One of the many people in Natali's life whom now that she has extraordinary powers, she has to be careful around. Her and her family, whom generously have lent Natali their couch for nights at a time...what could happen to their relationship if she knew Natali harbored such power? That she had the ability to influence their minds and feelings with her music? Hopefully, questions Natali would never have to face. Taking generous advantage of the previous posters being way into Natali's music, my first round will go as such: +1 to Vivian, making that a 1. It was kind of funny to Natali how despite her own above average marks, she went to Vivian so often for studying, homework, and other school related issues. Funnier still, Vivian seemed to have all the answers for her. Part of that was due to her taking advanced classes, at least as advanced as they could be, given the general state of things, but Natali found something calming, mature about her. She didn't mind how Natali sometimes would smell of night life; smoke, tobacco, alcohol, saying that it was her perogative to do what she wanted, as long as she didn't fail out of school. Natali could really get behind that, and so the two of them are about as friendly as you can get without being in the same year. +1 to Gretchen, giving that a total of 3. Lots of people seem to find themselves inebriated and causing a ruckus at concerts, just sort of par for the course, really. Social, loud events like that tend to bring out that rambunctious spontaneity in people. Gretchen always seemed to lead in this, finding herself in more than one pickle, Natali amusingly would notice as she performed. But what lurked behind those eyes of hers? What did she really want out of her life? Could her heart be stirred, led towards responsibility, an inkling of a plan for her future...? For some reason, Natali had those kind of worrisome thoughts about her. It seemed that being magical girls together would let her find out, one way or another. +2 to Renard, making that 2. The strongest bond in her life is one that she doesn't have around. Every day, she remembers her brother, because she never wants to forget what her life was like, what it is like. She crashes on couches, under bridges, and rarely back at her own small place, which she avoids because it's the same one the two of them shared. Every day she thought about trying to cross the East/West border somehow. If she had her way, she probably could. But she was, above all else, scared to see him again. There was a reason he went over there, wasn't there? He didn't really give a reason for why he left, and she couldn't get into contact with him again since that day. Was he hiding from her? She didn't know, and that was the worst feeling of all. She will see him again, someday. She has to. PurplieNurplie fucked around with this message at 23:39 on Dec 4, 2015 |

HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER! 2nd Lieutenant Tom Cobalt As part of the Allied occupation of West Germany, Allied forces provided provisions and security from Soviet assault. Part of that included assigning officers to assist with and train local police units to maintain peace and order, as well as to improve morale and camaraderie between armed forces of multiple nations. Among those includes Lieutenant Cobalt, a by-the-books leader and, while only a novice at both German police procedure and the German language, intends to do his part to keep everyone safe. Some say underneath his sunglasses is not his eyes, but another pair of sunglasses. And then his eyes. What is known is that he makes a mean cup of coffee, can party it up with the rest of Deutschland, and has a pretty good sense of intuition. ------------------------------------------------------- Moving on, Paige uses 3 points to set her relations with Friedrich to 3! Being her master, friend, and unofficial family member, it's hard to separate these two. Between mutual appreciation for the art, their works, and their partner's works, a deep understanding of one another was formed, and a near-unbreakable bond is in place. Secondly, Paige puts the remaining 1 point in Lt Cobalt. He was there alongside the Landespolizei during the investigation of the Stahlblume murder, as well as the questioning of Paige and her interaction with the murderer/client. He was the only one to actually compliment her on the craftsmanship of the object, which got the client's design specifications out of her in response. Along with a great deal of facts about flowers, flower petals and how hard it was to perfectly replicate them in metallic form.

Sorry, so much art crap to do this weekend. +2 Theresa +1 Herr Richt Mr. Richt, as Lisa continually calls him, is her father's former publisher. He's pretty small-time, both today and back when. He's in his late fifties, and always a little absent-minded. Lisa's been writing him letters ever since she realized what was going on with her father's old manuscripts, although she's been keeping quiet as to the cause of her correspondence. So far, he doesn't seem to know anything about the coming apocalypse. Is a fan of plaid trousers and a matching tie. Rather than jump right in onto somebody's toes - have all the girls met before, or is our opener going to be Azra putting the team together? +1 Paige Lisa has met Paige before, but she didn't put any significance behind the event until they met a second time with Azra in the picture. Her mother has purchased silversmithing from Schmidt's before, and as a child of the decadent Yankee empire, she was perplexed by the sight of someone her age working in a forge. She doesn't have a fully-formed opinion of Paige, but she's curious about her. grassy gnoll fucked around with this message at 22:05 on Dec 6, 2015 |

You've met each other, but you didn't have a lot of time to get accustomed to each other. This is the assumed baseline, if you spend points you can freely decide what kind of relationship you have, within limits that make sense of course. Sorry, should have mentioned that. Remember to put your stuff into the chart, gnoll. In the meantime, here's my npc: Zagadka He's quite the oddball. Despite clearly being a Russian, nobody seems to know him or why he's here. Doesn't stop them from following his orders when he shows his badge to people. Strangely enough, he constantly seems to show up at sites of magical battles. As a person, he's rather kind to children and younger people, but he is pretty arrogant and can get nasty to adults, especially when someone doesn't follow his orders to his liking. Word has it he likes sweets way too much for someone so serious... +2 with Ilya (He seems to be hovering around you and your father quite a bit due to his... work, probably? Your father has a pretty friendly relationship with him.) +1 with Paige (Strangely enough, he seems to frequent the shop you work in. He usually buys a few things, but ALWAYS something you made, even if you made something that looks like it belongs into the shop. The fact that you're on the west side makes this just so much more confusing.) +1 with Natali (He often shows up when you perform. So Adjective, what does Illya think of Lisa, the product, if not the very symbol, of the decadent and bourgeois West?

Natali Round 2: +1 to +1 to Renard, bringing that up to 3: What kind of life does one lead, when the person you think of most fondly is never around? Who doesn't try to find you, get in contact? Who left a long time ago? Natali ponders these kinds of questions. Why did he leave? What awaited him on the other side of the Wall? Why wouldn't he try to send letters, get her on the phone, do anything, really? She has too many questions, and perhaps a lifetime to try to find out the answers. Until then, all she can do is remember the good times, like the time they baked a cake together for one of their birthdays; they almost burnt it! She still remembers the way she rubbed frosting on his nose, how he looked like a clown. The good times. Would they ever come back...? +2 to Paige, giving that a total of 3: After they became magical girls and acquainted, Natali found something compelling about Paige and her work. Part of it was that they were both artists, in a sense, using their talents from their former lives to try to make real, significant change in the world. But the shapes, the designs of her objects was what caught Natali's eye. Even in a world as brutal, as rigid as theirs, there was room for a certain sense of beauty, of lines, curves and shapes that 'abstract' could describe, but not do justice. To Natali, these shapes reminded her of solitude, of loneliness, how there's a tragedy there, but also a quiet kind of strength as well. She hopes that she doesn't get into trouble as the investigation on her continues; after all, the law in the era of the Wall could generously be described as flexible, and honestly described as corrupt, another arm of those certain interests. If it came down to it, she would use her powers to help her out. They had that ability, as long as they stuck together. All Natali could hope for was that Paige felt something similar about her and her own works of 'art...'

+1 to Tom, because OH MY GOD LOOK AT THAT AMERICAN HUUUUNK~ Hell yeah Gretchen's seen him around and has her eye on him. +1 to Paige because.....well, excuse me, but could you help me make a really good stein? I'd impress everyone at the bar with one from a master craftswoman! Another +1 to Adelheid if I can, because they're that good friends. +1 to Ilia because Gretchen sympathizes with her desire for revolution.

+1 to Gretchen, bringing it to 3. "W-well, you see, steins are usually made of ceramic nowadays, and ceramic's weird, because it's non-metal, but it's made of stuff like aluminum and silicon. Only the lid is metal. But the Bavarians, about a century ago, they didn't have ceramic, so they made things out of metal. Especially pewter. " At this point, Paige has begun sketching out the designs for what she intends to build. "Pewter's about ninety-five percent tin, four percent antimony, one percent copper. Low melting point, around two-hundred Celsius. Used for pottery and church decorations and tableware. And steins. A stein's gotta hold a liter of alcohol, but you look like you need more. A lot more. Gonna need a lot more pewter, gonna be a lot taller, dent easier, because pewter is malleable, and that means it's easy to reshape. Gonna hold more though. Lot more. Gonna weigh a lot more when full. Gonna have to hold it in both hands." One long-winded explanation of the properties of pewter, spin casting, and history of Bavarian customs involving these steins later, she has a sketch of the finished product. +2 to Joanna. Of all the things Paige has been asked to create, perhaps the strangest request she has ever received was a request for a set of crutches, made about a week before her contract was made. These are usually bought from medical professionals, not made by a smithy upon request. Even stranger, the request's address came from the other side of the wall. She had no clue how she was going to deliver them, but figured she may as well craft them and then figure out that plan later. The client's requests included being sturdy enough to withstand any kind of shock, and pegs that'd allow one to rest at a moment's notice. To that end, Paige crafted these out of solid titanium alloy, built strong enough to take a bullet (she even got permission to have someone fire at it to test it!), and made each end in a tripod so as to allow for more stability and ability to rest upon a single crutch if needed while supporting someone's full weight. However, with the product finished, she was now at a loss for how to give it to the client. However... +1 to Zagadka, making the total +2. When at a loss for how to deliver this item across an impenetrable wall of iron, who else but that strange regular customer came by. Upon browsing the wares as usual, he asked about the crutches that were now on the rack of finished items, wondering if they were for sale. "N-no, they're for a...a customer...on the other side..." is all that could squeak out of Paige's mouth. However, that seemed to be enough for him to extend an offer to help get the item to where it needs to go. While she was unsure if she could trust him, Paige had little other choice. Not 48 hours later, he returned with the fee for the items and a letter expressing their thanks to Paige for their services rendered. Happy to hear this, Paige placed Zagadka firmly in the "favored customers" list from then on. Unknown Quantity fucked around with this message at 03:06 on Dec 7, 2015 |

Clara Regenbogen, round 2: +1 point to Gretchen. Her positive attitude is charming and infectious. Clara wishes she could be that upbeat, and sometimes tries to be when Gretchen is around, with varying degrees of success. +1 point to Yuli. He's nice enough. +2 to Paige. Non-athletic accomplishments are a bit out of Clara's wheelhouse, but she respects anyone with talent and the drive to use it. She's also wildly ambivalent about the crutch. Should she be grateful, angry, humiliated? Overall the effect is positive, just uncomfortable to process. There will be words for Joanna, at the least.

grassy gnoll posted:So Adjective, what does Illya think of Lisa, the product, if not the very symbol, of the decadent and bourgeois West? If we judge people solely by which direction on an arbitrary map they were born into, we're doomed. Yes, comrade, Communism - true Communism - is the path of the future, but we will reach that utopia through unity, not division! +1 point to Lisa (+2 total) You seem a rational, reasonable sort. Such qualities are always admirable. While Ilya is a dreamer, she respects those who don't have their heads in the clouds, and can ground those who do, bring logic to contextualize idealism. +1 point to Paige (+2 total) I agree, we must build bridges, instead of walls! Ilya is particularly glad to find a magical girl from the other side of the Wall, but as driven as her to improve the world. Surely their friendship can be a precursor to the eventual friendship that bridges East and West? +1 point to Yuli (+1 total) *ahem* he is... uhm. Not unattractive. Not unattractive at all. A girl can dream of more than utopia, can't she? Not much to say - Ilya has a teensy crush on him, though she hasn't really gotten involved with him yet. +1 point to Yuri (+3 total)

Lisa round 2 - +2 Theresa Lisa really doesn't have any other friends. It's pretty unhealthy. +2 Illya Utopian communism would be, like, a nice idea, except for the part where it relies on people. It's not a good way to get to the stars. Illya may see Lisa as an associate, but Lisa sees the Soviet as a rival. Not that she has the social wherewithal to mention it at any point. Running totals: +4 Theresa +1 Mr. Richt +1 Paige +2 Illya Is there anything stopping us from creating another NPC in subsequent rounds? I figure I should probably have a connection to my absentee mom at some point.

Grassy Gnoll, just so you're aware, PC relationships are two-way. When I put +1 into Ilya-Lisa it made it already +2 from both our sides (because Magical Girls start with +1). So A: you could only put another +1 into that relationship at chargen, making it +3 for both of us, and B: Just want to make sure you're okay with such a deep bond, since your description of how Lisa views their relationship doesn't really seem to be a +3? Don't forget that you cannot have a relationship be above +3 at chargen, so you can only put +1 to Theresa, too, this round. And no, nothing stops you making another NPC.

Gnoll, like I said, in creation the max rank you can take is 3. You'll have to use Bond ingame to get to rank 4. Also, because player-player relationships start with 1 free point, you also spent one point too many on Ilya. Please remedy this asap. New NPC: Petra Granz Overachiever in school and political dissident, Petra is the daughter of a politician long silenced by the regime of east berlin. While being a thorn in the side of the government, she's just a little bit too well-known and too little of an impact-maker to be worth the hassle of being 'disappeared.' Still, the situation in east berlin is something she just can't accept, and she won't stop until germany is reunited. ROUND 3: START! +2 Clara (The two were classmates of similar drive before the incident, and Petra has been looking for her since she disappeared.) +2 Natali (As a street performer working against the oppressive regiment, the two have worked together from time to time, and Natali has whatever support she can provide.) New NPC: Matthew Lorenz I am not so naive to think my dream of utopia and brotherhood will be accepted by everyone so easily. On the other side of the wall, I know of someone who's almost a mirror of myself - the son of a US general named Matthew. He is as committed and driven as I, but dedicated to a future of Liberalism sweeping the world instead of Communism! We rarely meet, though given our parents' status, each of us has ventured across the wall on occasion, and met often enough to get a good sense of each other... and I must admit, I goad him just as often as he goads me. It is a good thing, I think! If the path I wanted to take was easy, it would have been done already! I'll know I'm close to making a difference when I eventually win him over. +1 point to Matthew (total +1) (Fluff above) +1 point to Clara (total +2) How could one not be sympathetic, hearing her story? Seeing her drive to succeed despite that? I have great respect for such strength, physical and mental! +1 point to Petra (total +1) Of course I know of Petra. My father works for the KGB. She knows of me for much the same reason, I suspect. So we aren't friends - how could we be? But it would be too strong to describe us as enemies, either. I... sympathise with her position, even if I know she wants Berlin reunited and the Russians gone. Hopefully if I can befriend her, turn her to my side, we can work to her goals in a productive manner! +1 point to Vivian (total +1) I only knew Vivian after meeting with Natali. Frankly, Natali... intimidates me a little, and has legitimate grievances against my people that I can't address right now... but it is my hope that by befriending her friend that can be the first step to befriending her! ...or it will offend her and make her even more opposed to me, but I have to take the risk, right?

Clara Regenbogen, round 3 (fight): +2 to Lisa. This kid is even further over her head than the rest of us! What the hell is Azra thinking? Maybe there's a way to get her out of this. For now, I at least have to take her under my wing and train her. Another +1 to Yuli. The possibility of romantic competition from another girl makes him automatically more attractive to Clara. +1 to Joanna. It's sweet she's apparently still thinking about me, but she needs to stay far away from all this, for both our sakes. Totals: PCs Natali: 3 Paige: 3 Ilya: 2 Lisa: 2 Gretchen: 2 NPCs Joanna: 3 Yuli: 2 Petra: 2

+1 to Lisa because she's so quiet! Gretchen wants her to have more fun! Booze may or may not be involved. Another +1 to Klara (not Clara) because they've been talking lately about starting up a photography studio after they graduate. And +2 to a NEW NPC! Fritz Schulz The owner and head bartender of The Sleepy Dog, Gretchen's favorite bar. He's known Gretchen since she was old enough to drink, and usually has a glass of her favorite ready by the time she walks in the door. Like Adelheid, he helps keep Gretchen out of trouble when she gets a bit more rowdy. Like any bartender, he's very open and willing to talk to his customers about their troubles.

Alright. See you around, then! Sad to see you go. Everyone, make sure to spend the points you used on Lisa! 1 from Waffleman 2 from Klingon 1 from Nown Gamethread will go up regardless of this, just don't forget about it. And here's one last npc from me: Ms. Müller Teaching primarily at East Berlins most prominent school (not that this says much...), Ms. Müller is dedicated to give her students the best possible education given the circumstances, and try to keep the soviets surveillance fanaticism away from them as much as possible. Naturally, Petra is her favorite student (Despite claims that she has no favorites, it's quite visible. She also has a clear bias against the children of the occupiers). She's also a lot older than she looks. Just... don't tell her that. Or ask her real age. All that you'll get out of her is angry mumbling and possible chalk thrown at you. +1 to everyone but Ilya. Even if you aren't at home in the eastern part, you've likely met her once or twice during your 'work'.

Final round! +3 to Fritz Schultz An aged man often travels to the bar to unwind. The Sleepy Dog, while a bit loud for his tastes, is on the up-and-up, and serves good beer, so it is enough for him. It also serves milk or orange juice for his young protege, who despite his best wishes follows him in every other night once the work shift is over. She is a friend, a friend of a friend, and a regular. +1 to Petra, making that a 1 When a classmate comes looking around for Clara with a set of immaculately-crafted crutches that look like they'd cost a fortune, that raises some eyebrows and causes some digging into where she got them and who made them. While obviously unable to meet the person who made the object as of yet, they seem very much interested in learning more about Paige and her motivations. DONE WITH POINTS, NOW CAN POST.
