It worked but the effect was actually more problematic for the US forces as heavy equipment was ill-suited for the flooding and the mud. I don't understand why people can't wrap their minds around the well-known contrail effect and instead insist the vapors left by planes must be nefarious. Maybe it is because they have nothing better to do?
