apparently animes dont have writers, but that's not a huge surprise. once you have a premise like small girls wearing bikinis in space the show pretty much writes itself.

Mob Psycho 100, written by the same guy who did One punch Man, is getting an animated series. So is My Hero Academia, which is quite good but more for a younger audience (maybe).

It's okay and kinda cool for the first half of it but then the teen robot pilot reactivates his Gundam by crying onto the console and the series is approaching an ending without any satisfying solution to the conflict they've set up, so they just reveal that the seemingly-reasonable villain they've set up is actually a psychotic monster that just craves to kill everyone? Also the protagonist bangs on an enemy tank Tianenmen Square style because he thinks his space girlfriend might be in there?

Arlight so I remember this one called School Days from 2007. Basically it started as a boring highschool romance, where a boy falls in love with a dumb shy girl and the much better girl helps hook him up. But then he changes his mind and falls in love with the better girl. They have an affair, this is supposed to be romantic, and then he starts sleeping with other girls. Also everyone is 15. In the second to last episode girl #2 announces she is pregnant. In the last episode multiple kids stab each other to death in jealousy. This is played straight. My assumption is that the writers were just venting about the sad state of highschool romance tropes. Either its some subversive genre deconstruction or a legit bad show where they thought it'd be funny to gradually change genres over the course of 12 episodes.

Also about half of the shorts in the Animatrix were written by the Watchowskis and I couldn't help but think that they were way better than the actual sequels. 'The Second Renaissance" pts 1 and 2 were originally planned as Matrix prequels but WB balked on them and opted for actual sequels about Neo's dumb adventures.

Oh I know, I played the original VN. But of the 20 endings it had, only 3 of them were violent. Also that whole VN was a buggy piece of poo poo so I mayyyybe that's why they decided to focus on the one standout feature of School Days?
