Alan Trammel made it onto even my small hall ballot because even though I'm a Cards fan I'm not entirely evil.

Like how Billy Wagner struck out more than one batter per inning and allowed less than one base runner per inning over 900 or so innings, and how maybe he was the only pitcher to do that over a significant amount of innings when he retired. Might be true. Got my vote.

I'm probably going to put Rose on the ballot next year since Manfred made it pretty clear that even though he's banned from baseball he doesn't care what the HoF does. I mean, I'm not going to vote for him but I may as well give people the option.

80 WAR through age 38, including a >3 WAR year at that age and 45 WAR between 30-38, is a pretty good case for the HoF.

All aboard the Rose and Jackson poo poo storm. I just want to vote for Hal Chase.

Trammell is at 47% in public votes so far in the tracker, and he hasn't had any real split between public and private ballots in the past. At the very least, he'd be pretty well set up for the VC's Expansion Era ballot, assuming the Hall (a) ever figures out that they basically made it mathematically impossible for the VC to elect anyone and (b) decides to change that. The Hall knew from the beginning that it was impossible for the current iteration of the VC to elect anyone, and did it that way intentionally.

New Concept Hole posted:Eckstein only received 6 votes I love Eck. He earned that WS MVP. He's easily one of the coolest eligible players, from his Parks and Rec fake ad to the fact that a large part of his time is spent working for his wife's geek clothing company now. He was a great value player. He also had fewer WAR in 10 seasons of play than Edmonds produced from 2000 to 2003 alone. I can justify not voting for Schilling because I hate him because in my mind he's an otherwise-marginal case. I can't justify voting for Eck despite how much fun he is. The numbers just aren't there for me.

The collective story that was written of the short man who choked up way too much and was a playoff hero much to the disgust of the statistically-inclined community at large gave me more entertainment than the majority of these people. If that don't make you HoF eligible in a comedy forum ballot that doesn't matter then I dunno what does. FJM made Eckstein a Hall of Famer.
