i have my speakers connected to my receiver and when its on the lowest volume i hear a radio coming through them. i dont have an antenna on the receiver and everything grounded. believe me ive tried monster cables and wrapping my entire setup with aluminum foil but nothing is helping  any cool "audiophiles" who can give me some helpful tips/tricks. thx

i seem to remember that the actual speaker drivers can pick up radio if it's the right frequency, especially subwoofers. i had a friend say that he once started hearing a live nick cave and the bad seeds concert through his speakers at about 3AM and it freaked him out

if i knew the station id call in with requests. sometimes The Boss comes on and i don't mind so much. other times its red hot chilly peppers and i dont care for it

maybe you should try reversing the polarity on your radio and see if you can comfort your dad. from the sound of it, he is pretty sad about something, i would be interested to know what it is. i mean, i guess it could be tears of joy that you died but sounds more like sobbing, like maybe his sports team lost a big game. something more important to him?

Same thing happens to me op. I'll shut down my computer after playing a movie or w/e and I'll hear asian pop songs playing at a really low volume through my speakers. And whenever the compressor in my fridge starts running, or I turn on/off the ceiling fan, I hear a a big static pop. I fear for my mental health

I once lived next to one of the big radio broadcast antennas and my bedroom wall faced it (it was like literally the lot over from the apartment building). If I plugged the alarm clock I had into the wall facing the antenna, just being plugged in would cause it to play whatever the radio station was broadcast at a fairly decent level. I felt real safe living there
