Saw this at IMAX today and was pleasantly surprised. I'm so glad they didn't CGI the crap out of it.

I do think anyone who hasn't seen the original trilogy would find it a bit lacking, though.

Whatever one might think of the screenplay, direction, and so on, I thought the casting of the new characters, and especially Driver, was extremely well-done. Obviously Disney et al. have the resources to make sure their cast is perfect, but there are an awful lot of mega-budget films out there where the casting isn't half that successful.

You can't miss him. He's the tech guy that Ma-Ma forces to do her whole plan. With the robot eyes because she gouged his real ones out. He's like the fourth (or fifth) most important character in the movie.

But Ex Machina was really what made me pay attention to him. I really love that movie and he's amazing in it. I can't believe that half the cast of Ex Machina is in TFA.
