I can't think of a single person who actively hates the Evil Dead films. Maybe they're not for you, maybe you hate horror or dislike comedy mixed in with your torture porn but I think we can all agree that the Evil Dead trilogy has had nothing but a positive impact on pop-culture and the way we look at cinema.

Which is why the Evil Dead tv show has been such a crippling let down.

The first episode was pretty decent. I forgave any flaws because there was a good kinetic energy to it, plenty of Campbell goofiness and sure, nostalgia. I'm guilty of that. Watching that episode I kind of understood how Transformers fans might be able to enjoy the films. But it's just been getting worse and worse with every episode. The half hour slot is really stifling and making it feel that each time a character comes back on screen (Cop/Xenia) they have to re-state what they're doing and why. How many episodes after Cop-Lady just fought a Deadite did she keep going, "This is crazy, i don't know what's going on." Despite being told what's going on. The Spirit Journey that could have been a one off "low point talky" episode was stretched out over multiple weeks and just wasn't that funny.

The script is pretty bad too. Campbell is doing his best to inject some charm but even he couldn't fix this emotionally charged and witty back and forth:

- You never turn off do you?
- Babycakes, I never turn off.

The fight with the Deadites in the truck was a bit fun, at least but everything else has been so dull. I've seen people praising the Diner fight, but I didn't feel it. Also the dude in the bunker? Her great plan was to just him him with sticks.

Any excuses of, "Well it's an Evil Dead tv show, what do you expect?" should be ignored as the lame argument it is. Nobody should have to "Turn their brain off" even for a TV show about a chainsaw handed man fighting monsters.

Ash vs Evil Dead is awesome. It's the Peaky Blinders of TV shows.

Bruce Cambell's greatest role wasn't Ash.

It was the thief guy from Hercules/Xena and it's a fuckin' travesty that he never got his own spinoff series.

yeah, they made young Hercules when a Autolycus/Joxer series was such a better idea. come on!

This show is legit OP. It's okay to have bad taste.

Every episode of Ash vs the Evil Dead has the same feel as the Evil Dead series. Bruce is cool. Kelly is sexy. That other kid makes me laugh. There are demons being murdered with cheesy one liners. What more do you want?

Go watch Downton Abbey.

People who hate Fury Road have weird issues with women or are broken in some other way, that's all there is to it.

You all know me (no you don't, none of you remember my posts), I don't go around calling people MRA PUAs over other things. But everyone who hates Fury Road is an MRA or some kind of "Oh it's LOUD and VIOLENT I don't like films like that" grandmother. Its uncanny. Sometimes they'll lie and give you other reasons but once you scratch the surface or wait long enough and get them to weigh in on some other topics, nope, it's there.

Only it really doesn't? The "scary" parts aren't scary the "funny" parts are barely held aloft by Bruce's heroic charm. This is where I think the short running time ruins the show. Take the Diner scene for example, it's over before it's begun. If they had a bit longer to have fun with it then maybe. Maayyyybe it would start to feel a bit more like the films.

Its bad cuz the fights have to fit in one episode so the solution is to have ash engage into goku like charge ups that tie up several episodes together so they can have proper zombie boss fights. if Sam Raimi is reading this yes im available for work

The show is amazing and evil dead in basically every conceivable way. You're terribly wrong OP.

You also apparently have very few friends, a lot of people hate the first movie because of the tree rape scene. Or maybe you're just made at lack of tentacle rape in the tv show OP?
