GRRM failed to stay ahead of the show and we are now, more than any previous season, into new material. Reports coming in suggest that the show will be finishing up some AFFC and ADWD material (Kingsmoot, Jaime in the Riverlands, etc.) it left out of Season 4 and 5, but expect major revelations from TWOW and beyond. However, whether any significant plot developments are actually true to what will eventually happen in books or are instead David and Dan's own retarded brain children is unknown. All I know is that, after the travesty that was Season 5, I'm expecting some real bullshit. Here's what's been confirmed to be happening: - Dany fucks around with the Dothraki and eventually takes control of them when Drogon saves her - Jorah and Daario bro it up on the road trying to find and save Dany - Tyrion and Varys bro it up in Meereen trying to sort out the problems in the city that no one cares about - Shae returns in a dream - Chekhov's dragons wait for someone to release them - The North chafes under the rule of the Boltons, the North Remembers, etc. - Kingsmoot: introduction of Euron and Aeron, Yara and Theon are both present as well - Jon is revived, Melisandre probably dies in the process - Margaery becomes devout, presumably as a ploy, and is released by the Faith - Sam reunites with his parents in the Reach - Jaime learns diplomacy in the Riverlands with Bronn and besieges Riverrun - Return of Edmure and Blackfish - Allegedly, Sandor Clegane comes back too - Brienne's personal GPS brings her back south so she can hastily resume her AFFC story - The return of the Brotherhood Without Banners in some capacity (but not Stoneheart, never Stoneheart) - More loving Dorne - Bran learns to be a tree and travels through time - Arya returns to Westeros after spending most of the season blind in Braavos - Sansa stays in the North and appears back in Winterfell with Littlefinger - Jon leads an army of wildlings and giants south to take Winterfell - Battle of the Bastards, Jon vs. Ramsay - Tower of Joy flashback - GRRM cries himself to sleep --- Confirmed Cast Additions The North Dean S. James Faulkner as Randyll Tarly Still only like the third worst father in Westeros. Rebecca Benson as Talla Tarly Let's be honest, knowing Sam's luck, she's probably doomed. Essos Essie Davis as "Cersei" She plays Cersei in the Braavosi play within the show. Meta. Melanie Liburd as High Priestress Kinvara RIP Moqorro. Souad Faress as High Priestess of the Dosh Khaleen Time for some more prophecy Richard E. I really enjoyed last season and I am really looking forward to the new season! It does make me a little sad, though. My mother loved this show and read the books at the same time I did, and we used to talk about it all the time. She passed away this year. At least I can still chat about it here when it comes out.

It was a very slow season which then wrapped everything up in 2 episodes and it really suffered from it. I think Brienne's choice worked well enough in the show in that moment but like it's been said there was a lack of consequences. Maybe if they'd postponed the wedding and Sansa had seen what was in store for her, so that the rape and beatings followed immediately after Brienne left her post to pursue Stannis it would have more weight.

There haven't been as many obviously fake 4chan spoilers that people believe anyway this year. There was one at the end of last season but that seemed rushed and didn't get picked up. (Theon marries Dany) Also more spying, probably because people have lost that special insider knowledge to feel smug about. I don't remember anything like men walking through miles of mountain ranges to snipe the Tower of Joy or a drone spying on the Iron Islands last year, maybe they were just more successful.

I stopped watching halfway through last season. It failed to hold my interest and it became obvious that the show writers are only capable of good material when they're working off of stuff GRRM's already written, which of course they've run out of. I'm not sure I'll bother with this season.

Quite frankly the worst thing about Hardhome is that it featured really good writing and politicking by Jon Snow to the point the rest of Night Watch story made even less sense, and make you wonder why Jon Snow got so dumb when talking to the Watch as opposed to the Wildlings.

One of my friends summed it up by saying the pacing was like a Tolkein book. 10 pages of bullshit about a meal followed by a paragraph about an epic 4 day battle. We got boring dinner conversations and whispers about the north remembering and a 30 second fight in which Stannis' army was crushed. At least we got the amazing episode where Jon killed a white walker.

Are the zombies in the book semi-sentient? Like the two that get brought to Castle Black bee-line towards Mormont, is that happy coincidence because the watch is incompetent, some mind control poo poo, or -and this is where I'm leaning- do they want to be cool mr zombie around town that killed the important guy and are trying to be the best zombie they can be.
