Tuna is great. Tinned tuna is usually gross. Plus, it's unsustainable, high in mercury, and just plain boring. Get some dines in ya

Grody, huge, boney. And yet they still tasted okay. They were two different kinds; the slimmer kind was a little better and easier to manage/debone. I ate the ribs but removed the spines. Adding some chinese chili powder helped considerably.

All in all I am glad to be back in the land of easily available KO royal dines

What in the gently caress have they done to that fish :chloe:

You don't need a fork. You just dig around in the oil with your fingers until you catch one of the slippery little bastards and then you put it in your mouth hole and eat it all up.

Ok, so what was going to happen was I was going to use these fillets and make some sort of dish, possibly involving rice with diced up red pepper, spring onion, tomato, and coriander. What happened instead was I found out we didn't have any of that stuff in the house and it's about to rain super hard and gently caress going outside, so I just fried up the fishes and ate them.

It is friend. They throw the whole fuckin leg in the pot, trotters and all, with chinese 5 spice and some other herbs. By the time it's done the fat has all melted into the broth, and the meat is ridiculously soft. They serve it with pickled cabbage, rice and eggs, and then on each table there's a little tub with the raw chillis and garlics. And yeah, a plate is around $1.50. You normally eat it off a rickety plastic table by the side of the road, perched on a little plastic stool.

Another one of my favourites is Khao Moo Krop (rice with crispy pork belly)

Just buy good 'dines my dude. Cheap ones are like entirely different fish to decent ones. There are some things you shouldn't cheap out on - you wouldn't buy lovely cheap coffee because you know it's gonna be gross. You'd pay a little more for that sourdough loaf compared to the sliced white. Buy the good fishes. It's worth the money.

E: not to mention that the cheap and lovely ones are likely fished unsustainably, compared to stuff like the KO's which come from Norway where you know they're gonna be strict on this stuff so that there will still be fishies for us and our kids to eat in the future.
