I dunno how successful this thread will be, but I thought I'd float it since I'm on a huge kick of these types of games right now. It started with Kairosoft last year, then Game Dev Tycoon, and I've been tumbling down the rabbit hole hard lately. These games have a long glorious history, with things like Theme Hospital/Park, Rollercoaster Tycoon, et al, but have entered a kind of renaissance thanks to Game Dev Tycoon (nearly a note-for-note cover of Kairosoft's Game Dev Story). Game's I've been playing lately: Big Pharma A production chain / pharmaceutical company manager. A little dry, as the utility aspects of the company are just menus, and the crux is on making assembly lines for drugs. Mad Games Tycoon If you liked Game Dev Tycoon, you have to give this a whirl. I know, I know, it's tagged with the dreaded "Early Access" mark of the beast, but the game is honestly a full experience, and incredibly deep once you get rolling. I'm still trying to suss out the best way to approach, as it's pretty unforgiving even on normal difficulty. Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop! A little paint-by-numbers, but a great amount of humor, and very well polished, a really solid experience. Other stuff: Game Corp DX, bargain bin game, you'll get 4 hours out of it and enjoy it well enough. Recettear, everyone knows about this one! Empire TV Tycoon: I can't make heads or tails of this game, but I'm very interested in it.
