What's the term for when an artist covers a song, and keeps the tune the same but changes the lyrics and genre? The Wu Tang track is definitely within this the aim of the thread (changing the gender of the singer, etc), but Busta's Iron Man version seems more like just a "standard" hip hop sample that they got Ozzy to sing along on. My favorite strange cover of all time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AVykXVL_xw Go ahead, try and guess what song it's a cover of It's a cover of Elvis Presley's Suspicious Minds played backwards (hence all the Elvis wigs in the video), including the same lyrics: the Italian lyrics are a phonetic approximation of the original backwards English (sometimes really close, compare this part with the original), and not only they're grammatically correct and not just gibberish, they even mostly make sense. Elio e le Storie Tese are famous for their absurd humorous lyrics, so almost nobody noticed at first. They're also a legit badass act, and probably the only band in Italy that could pull it

Most retro gamers know the theme to Doctor Wily's Castle theme. Fast and beep-boopy, right? One of the few OCRemix mp3s I still have in my collection is Tickle My Wily, a remix that turns it into a slow-paced, sweeping piano theme that has some beep-boopy stuff in the background, but it's almost changed into a different song for me, mentally.
