Winter storm Jonas is about to hit the east coast, leaving a wake of snow and ice and destruction and empty bread shelves in its path. I live in South Carolina so I don't see a lot of winter weather, but they're calling for 2-8" of snow and up to a half an inch of ice starting tonight. We don't have the infrastructure to deal with that sort of thing so basically everything will shut down for a day or two. We got a small dusting yesterday in advance of the storm tonight. My plans for tonight before the ice/snow starts: http://i.imgur.com/PDQGGG4.gifv - Go get some food because right now I don't have any. - Make sure I have enough water for my dogs in case the pipes freeze. - Fill my car with gas in case the power goes out and I need somewhere to get warm and charge my phone so I can read somethingawful.com According to the Red Cross you should have all this stuff:
Other discussion topics - What is some of the best goon food to buy for a winter storm where the power might go out? - What is the best kind of sled? - Talk about how people where you are from know how to drive in snow and ice and other people suck at it. - Post pics of winter weather and share stories. Other than that this thread is a winter weather free for all hahaha!!

there's literally no water or milk left for me to buy lol, people around here are loving animals, every time there's a storm on the east coast it reminds me that during some kind of apocalyptic event it's going to be a loving free-for-all and you better have some kind of weapon to defend yourself.

You can stay warm by jacking off all day every day. Make sure to save and print some material for when the power is out!

I think the south is just really into anything to do with survival. I used to work at a grocery store and I was the only person with 4x4 who was able to get in during winter storms. It was always a complete ghost town except for redneck dudes who drove up in their 4 wheelers to buy booze and junkfood.

My boss is cool, we're gunna get 2 feet of snow so he basically just told everyone "don't kill yourself coming to work, if you don't think you can make it just stay home". I'm gunna suck his dick so hard after this storm.

We had a water boil notice the other year that lasted a grueling total of one (1) days and you basically couldn't buy bottled water for a few days afterward. God help you if a real problem happens

Just picked up a generator as our house has lost power for 2-3 weeks total out of the last five years from various storms and I'm tired of it. I look forward to a decade of uninterrupted power and not needing to use it.

I'm about 15 miles inland in the mid-atlantic so our predictions are currently at 3-20" with maybe but maybe not some rain in the middle.

as a canadian i think i can help with this thread, i have extensive arctic experience. some pro tips: -your dog sled is your life, keep good care of your dogs feet! -save electricity by burying your groceries outside -you will need foods rich in calories to keep you warm, such as whiskey and poutines -when checking your animal traps, dont play around with wounded animals they can be dangerous, and shooting them will damage the pelts. just leave them until tomorrow and they will freeze up just fine -be careful eating snow when you run out of water. melt it first, or you will get a terrible brain freeze

i remember drving to florida for one winter (I'm from canada) and it was amazing how some states (south virginia down) just shut down the second snow comes down. It was kinda a freak winter and some of the states with snow shouldn't be getting any but its still pretty lol seeing cars all over the ditches and people driving like its a blizzard out and theres maybe an inch of snow down.

Yeah they're idiots but their cars are also simply not roadworthy when it comes to ice and snow.

Make sure you have plenty of porn downloaded onto your phone just if the internet goes down and printed material in case you are without power for an extended period of time. I have a feeling there were be a huge black market for printed porn once you hit week 2 of no power/water

The first car I see after paying the entrance fee is going maybe 15mph and the dude the clutching the steering wheel with all his life. snow is fun once you figure out how it handles yeah SoCal was like 15-20 every day which is nice cause back home it was -10 to -18 (celsius obv.)
