The Toronto Game Jam has a tradition of showing Hackers on the last night. Unfortunately I always skip it because I am busy making a drat game or sleeping my rear end off.

I used to rewatch/go frame-by-frame through the 200-pixel-wide quicktime trailer that took me forever to download because the internet was terrible in 1996. I dug that cape and its doc-ock chains, man.

I am to this day not entirely un-fond of Earth: Final Conflict. The first season had a handful of great ideas, executed about as poorly as possible—but the ideas were there! And the show predicted smartphones more accurately than anything else on television did which is neat.

IDW TMNT is fantastic, I still describe it as Ultimate TMNT - a modern version of all the TMNT media that came before. If you wanna read things in story order this might help http://tmntentity.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/the-idw-tmnt-continuity-timeline.html but i'm not sure because I tend to read the series as its released so its never been a problem for me.

Even this depends on the subway system. The DC Metro doesn't have anything inside the system (eating and drinking is actually illegal within the system), and my limited use of the Chicago L was similar from what I recall.

Toronto's transit system is what I'm most familiar with and just about every station has one of these kiosks. Sometimes more than one.

The only thing that's sub-optimal about this in any way is that it's trades rather than singles, which is slightly more annoying to read in order because in a lot of places you technically have to duck out of one trade to start reading another, and then back again. It's not actually that straightforward with singles either, though, and TMNT is one of the few IDW series that doesn't allow comixology backups downloading for you to just feed into a standalone reader with the files renamed to fix the order for you, so it only barely matters.

The series is good as hell though, if batshit crazy from the word go.

Oh Trades. Hmm. The way I have the trades lined up is fine for a reading order

Volume 1, Volume 2, Hero Micros 1, Volume 3, Hero Micros 2, Volume 4, Volume 5, Secret History, Villains Micro 1, Volume 6, Villains Micro 2, Volume 7, Volume 8, Utrom Empire

Now that I think about it - since comixology is a digital platform why didn't they bundle it in reading order? Typing that out made it look a whole lot more daunting than it is.

Comixology just bundles digital trades the same way physical trades are printed. I don't think they really have any say in it.

I will never not be nostalgic for 90s cyberpunk. I mean, yeah, it looks stupid now, but it looked so cool then, and I can remember it looking cool, and remember the idea of the internet being 3d environments you entered into with helmets and gloves, rather than laptops and slick, friendly, sometimes counter-intuitive GUI (and not even sinister, corporate friendly GUI with a mocking tone of cynicism backed into it)

I mean, why don't I get to look like this? Instead I just carry a phone and a normal briefcase.

Fun fact, those are characters from the artist's pornographic webcomic. That's just a SFW portion of a furry porno.
