Counting RDA as an outlier, this is easily the most attractive the UFC championship gallery has ever been. It will only get better when Frankie beats McGregor

I'd like a real SMV breakdown of McGregor and Edgar right now because I'm not sure which is objectively more attractive.

"Who's the fat piece of shi-Ohhhhhhh...." Excellent thread title. And it's not just you DWG. I've felt like UFC has sort of just been stringing these first few UFC cards of the year together with whoever was available. Like they put together a run of amazing cards in December through the Cruz vs Dillashaw fight, and now they are just filling cards with mostly leftovers until this summer with the Conor PPV being the exception.

The what the fuckness of Rothwell submitting God drat Barnett is only just hitting home. Whoever compared to it a hypothetical knocking out of Anderson Silva by Damien Maia or something was loving dead on. The fact that he helped a training goon through some dark periods in his life makes him so loving endearing. That and his tard jig.

I've already assessed Frankie Edgar, but I can do a quick valuation for McGregor. He's covered in prominent, technically vibrant tattoos, wears a beard and oftentimes has trendy hair styles, speaks in an accent, is extremely vocally self-assured and still has his special edition gold plating intact, all of which are huge bonuses to his SMV. Unfortunately, however, he is not without significant detractions to his overall market value. These include his abhorrent posture, and the fact that when he is in the midst of a weight cut to 145, he is a constant living reminder that death comes for us all and takes away everything we love. So much ridiculous stuff has happened in the last few months (In less than a year, 8 of the 10 UFC belts have changed hands) that I'm no longer able to be surprised in MMA. And then Maia will knock him out with a spinning wheel kick or some poo poo.

It's been a lot of fun seeing the unpredictable and crazy results. I mean that drat Rothwell sub blew my mind, good for him.

All this talk of Northcutt not being UFC ready or whatever but I'm pretty sure Trevino and Pfister were both signed to the UFC before him and he beat them with little effort. He's clearly gifted, just needs good hard training. Reminder though that Young Hercules doesn't lift weights anymore. Sage is highly likely to run away from home and move to a Mormon compound.

I was looking through the light heavyweight rankings to remind myself who was relevant in the division and discovered that no one is relevant. The lack of talent is reminiscent of heavyweight at this point. Just... goddamn. This is the weight class that got me into MMA in 2007 so I really thought of it as the premiere division. If Jon Jones does beat Cormier, he should absolutely immediately move up to heavyweight, because I have no desire to see him fight anyone at 205. Also, who the gently caress is Gian Villante and why is he ranked after getting knocked out by Tom Lawler half a year ago? Agent Tough Juice fucked around with this message at 13:59 on Feb 1, 2016 |
