Mothman. Also mummies. I still read a lot of books about mummies...but mothman was no laughing matter. My big brother and I once convinced our mom to watch a TV show about mothman with us, and at the end we were all (including my mom who is a reasonable human being) too scared to walk through the kitchen cause we didn't want to go past any windows. In retrospect, nice bonding experience. At the time, worst terror I had ever experienced.
