Be careful with certainty, it may not exist philsophically, and everyone's viewpoint may have a glimmer of poetic truth to it whether based in reality or fantasy. i like that line of thought in absurdism where it states hey you should accept that yeah this is all bs but bs is all we are all about so gently caress that noise so gently caress that noise

Although I'd believe that the Russians thought we were all panicky idiots due to us freaking out about War of the Worlds that one time and doing some crazy poo poo over it being actual aliens if I had to pick one crazy theory. Also the new X Files referenced it for like a split second which was pretty cool
