i dont know if this is a common problem or not but i have certain words that i misspell because they got hardwired into my brain incorrectly at a young age and i rely on autocorrect to catch them. restraunt necessary - holy poo poo i got it right! mispell post your favorite words that your brain has ruined or post ways that you mispronounce words in conversation i pronounced genre as "gen-ear" until about 10 years ago it still sounds right to me

It's not that I misspell this word now, but I noticed in one class in which I had to write "Norway" multiple times on a worksheet, for the purpose of filling in blanks with a country's name, the fictional country I wrote down was Normay.

I imagine for lots of people, burdened by the uncertainty that doubled letters impose, occasion and occurrence are a match made in the netherworld.

Captain Yossarian posted:"Restaurant" for me too. "Cancelled" is another one, I 100% of the time only have one L. "canceled" is okay, it's just a more American version. The double-L is usually a British spelling in a few other words too.

For the longest time I spelled tomorrow as 'tommorow' which was particularly frustrating because the spellcheckers I was using for some reason weren't able to tell what i was trying to type even though I was only one letter off. It was something I had to force myself to learn. Definitely is another word I always misspell (definately or w/e), I mostly just try to avoid using it.
