This thread is definitely NWS. Long time goon here. I mostly lurk, but in the past have done a variety of A/T threads dubbed Confessions of a Pornographer. I had assumed that the A/T threads were finished, since I've done several over the years and didn't have any plans to resurrect a new one. However, a few goons recently asked me to post a thread discussing this subject again, but outside the confines of A/T subforum. I have no clue if there is even interest in this, but I will take a stab at it and see where it goes. I've been producing "professional" porn for nearly 15 years. I have produced over 1000 scenes and performed in roughly 350 scenes. I am currently producer at Evil Angel. Besides my own work at Evil Angel I also produce all of Lexington Steele's movies at Evil Angel as well. Before I became my own boss, I used to work for many of the older directors at Evil Angel including John Leslie, Rocco Siffredi and Joey Silvera. I also have produced content for Wicked Pictures, Hustler, Brazzers, Jules Jordan Video, and a variety of others that I don't remember. Not sure what the rules are on linking to adult content, so for now I will leave any video and photo examples out of this thread. However here are some more generic links, though they are still NWS. I cast the performers, shoot the scene myself as the camera operator and photographer and then handle some of the post production myself editing the content or share the editing duties with another editor. In the past I have performed in scenes as well a fare amount, though those days are behind me, as I approach my mid 40s. One user requested an 'inside baseball' approach to this thread. Here is one of the more stressful stories. This was many years back, before I was producing completely on my own. On this specific production I was doing double duty as the Production Manager and Photographer for an old school director that was with Evil Angel. We were all the way out in an area called Agoura Hills, which is basically north of Los Angeles County. This specific location was a fairly nice house that had this massive area in the back setup for shooting. It had a pro basketball court, a mini golf area and even this fake looking dog park of sorts. The scene was between a performer from South America (Uruguay) who spoke basically no English and she was paired with a now somewhat well known black male performer. Everything went along as usual and the director decided to shoot this scenario on the basketball court. They had done the intro and even were well on their way into the sex, while I was waiting to come in and take stills of the hardcore elements. As I'm standing in the back of the property waiting, roughly seven sheriff deputies climb the side gate and come into the property. I am completely panicking, but I need to take care of the situation and keep things professional so I begin to approach them, when one of them draws their weapon and tells me to go inside the house and wait there. The director and performers are on this basketball court, which is further enough away from my interaction with the deputies that they don't hear anything and I can't warn them. I go back into the house waiting, watching and pacing while the deputies interrogate the director and the two performers. After about 15 or 20 minutes they start all coming to the house. Upon entering it seems the tension has somewhat subsided. No major hostilities, as they just begin asking us all questions. As they confirm the female performers age, she is still walking around completely naked. I say to the lead deputy, "officer I have a robe over here for her, may I go get it" He proceeds to look her up and down, shakes his head and says to me "nah that isn't necessary".

They knew porn was being shot there. They used the excuse that a kid saw what we were doing in order to jump the fence without a warrant. They also didn't charge us or give us any sort of ticket, which further leads to believe that they just wanted to shut it down and scare the home owner. However the reality is the police are acting as tax collectors. You're supposed to get a filming permit to shoot a commercial production. The county doesn't get their money then they send the police in, till you start paying for permits.

A guy failing costs the company big money. Due to that reason, I only hire proven male performers. I never hire anyone new or inexperienced. Women are casted based on the type of sex scene. Meaning is it g/g only or is it anal or a double penetration scene. Not every female performer does everything. Each decide what sex acts they are willing to do on camera. Beyond that limitation you then might be shooting a production that is more geared for the "milf" look or features younger more nubile looking women. I even have a tattoo series (Inked Angels) and always looking for models with good body art to be featured in those types of scenes. Perhaps you're shooting a production all about big asses, so you seek out female performers that match up. There is really no measurement for the women in the industry. Even BBWs have their own niche.
