Can anybody tell me a good way to steam hotdog buns, but with just regular kitchen stuff? I don't have any fancy bun steaming accessories.

Seriously, try a good roll and split it, lightly butter the insides and face down grill until golden. Ups the bun game immensely. If you got time to fool around with your dogs that is. If not by all means steam those buns. What I'm saying is have a good time!

also if you're feeling like something new, try some sriracha sauce (comes in the bottle with a rooster on it) for a spicy kick. goes well with mayo too--give it a "roll"

One of the best dogs I've had was from Gray's Papaya in NYC. Real casings, spicy mustard, and sauerkraut... That red sweet onion sauce is a bit gross though. If you're in New York do yourself a favor and go for the taste (good price too) If in Montreal get all-dressed steamies (mustard, sweet relish, diced onion, cole slaw) from Belle Province or another casse croute (with a poutine of course) When in Toronto get a char broiled street meat dog from the carts in front of city hall or the one at King and John. Load that egg bun up with over two dozen toppings and fixings! (including onion crunch, Sriracha, bacon bits, three kinds of relish, mayo and cheez wiz)
