When they retire they will have plenty of time to sit in their storage containers that they will tell themselves is just "green and efficient housing" and prepare their XBox/Steam achievement displays for their funerals, because they never had kids or grandkids or anything else that actually mattered in their lives. They will fantasize alone about how much the world is actually dazzled by how intelligently they lived their lives, and will wonder how the poor world will spin on after they are gone. Spoiler: they never made a difference in the world as an individual and will not be missed, and their entire lives were pretty much a waste of time and oxygen. They even made the world a little worse with how much they disappointed their parents and other people who tried to care about them and wanted them to succeed, to no avail. That will be the legacy they get to contemplate in their years of physical decline when everyone who tried are dead, and they are alone on a "fixed income." Rules of generalization apply, and anyone is free to prove me wrong, of course. :-D
