Private event DJ's do this all the time so it feels (to the client) like the DJ is taking the time to connect with the audience, has his finger on the pulse, "gets" the party, or whatever.

One of the stations I listen to when I'm too lazy to choose a song on my phone does this thing where they say "Don't change the channel <bullshit little town nearby>" or "Keep listening <random common name>", I'm sure the reasoning is the same. Oh boy they named my town I better keep listening to hear more of the greatest alternative tracks from the last twenty years
