When we talk about classic rock/dad rock, there's one name we always miss: Bob Seger. He was really good. Some of his hits: Turn the Page Night Moves I can't find a non-cover version of Against the Wind but it's a good song.

He was a little too tall, and could have used a few pounds.

Speaking for old fucks, we heard that poo poo on the radio every ten minutes back then and we're still really sick of it. The dude was an honorary member of The Eagles

That's funny, because I woke last night to the sound of thunder. How far off, I sat and wondered.

Slow Bob Seger: Good (Turn the Page, Night Moves) Fast Bob Seger: Bad (Katmandu) Old Time Rock n' Roll is kind of in between those tempo-wise, but I tend to group it with the former rather than the latter.

sometimes i get feels when im driving late at night by myself and hollywood nights or night moves come on, or still the same...that one of my favs actually. he kinda had a unique groove for the time amongst huis contemporaries via appropriating some of the Motown and Muscle Shoals sound...and unlike Elvis he sounded constipated as gently caress when singing but prob was not. B- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaqwWUdE2nQ but still drat good, Night Moves and Stranger in Town were def among some of the better 70s rock records, like one step below Fleetwood Mac/Rumours imho Mariana Horchata fucked around with this message at 05:28 on Feb 14, 2016 |

One time I went to Sound Warehouse and bought a Bob Seger tape. When I got home and listened to it I was very confused, so I called my grandma, and she said, "No, we were talking about Pete Seeger. I don't know who Bob Seger is."

I think of him as that guy with all the songs about getting old, but I guess he's got some popular songs that aren't about how badly he's aging. Though wait a sec, he couldn't have been more than 38 when he wrote Like A Rock so... oh, gently caress you Bob. Guess I'll be getting decrepit pretty soon.

About 10 years ago in the front row of an airplane the guy across the aisle from me was macking on the stewardess and casually let it slip that he played a horn in Seger's Silver Bullet Band. That actually got my attention because I liked Seger, and I asked him how long he'd been in the band.... he said something like "Since 1994" and then I said, "Oh so long after he wrote all his good stuff." Then I stopped paying attention to him. The stewardess was paying more attention to me though because I was flying with my infant son and babies are like mad pussy magnets when you are a single dad. Better than dogs in a park, even. I cockblocked one of the Silver Bullets. That's my bob seger story.
