Once more we set sail for the 41st Millennium, were a group of freaks and misfits are arriving at footfall. they are part of a Rogue Trader dynasty - a noble house given immense power to expand the Imperium of Man (and make huge piles of cash on the side.) - that is down on its luck and almost bankrupt.
Can the new Rogue Trader bring the house back to glory? Well, I say "New" - He will be the Rogue Trader, as soon as he steals the family ship back!

There is not much more I can put into the OP - the players are going to introduce their own characters, so all that is left for me to say is that this is using Fantasy Flights Rogue Trader rules. its a Pen and Paper RPG which we are playing via the Fantasy Grounds virtual table top. as Rogue Trader is a creaky and old system now, we are using a few combat tweaks from Only War, but mostly its going to be getting lost in the Warp and going insane.

Our last Rouge Trader game was great, this one already looks like its going to surpass that - we have a much better idea of what we are doing, and the Characters are a lot weirder.

Here is the Rogue Trader Vessel.

Session 1 - That's our ship!
Session 2 - Trading, Smuggling and Diplomacy.
Session 3 - Re-learning to fight.

Part 2 - Negotiations.
Part 3 - Timekilling.
Part 4 - Rouge Meatbeast.
Part 5 - Back into the warp

Session 3

Part 3 - Reception.
Part 4 - Relearning combat
Part 5 - Slaughter

Session 4
Part 1 - Was that a mugging?
Part 2 - Party Time!
Part 3 - Social Fallout.
Part 4 - Duelling Etiquette.
Part 5 - Good King Wenzeslaus.

They are immune to space travel sickness. In addition, zero- or low-gravity environments are not considered Difficult Terrain for void born characters.

Officer on Deck: Battlefleet characters are generally officers, and as such they are used to giving orders and having those orders obeyed.
All Battlefleet characters gain a +5 bonus to all Command Tests while aboard any spacecraft.

Mastery of Small Craft: The Void-master can re-roll all failed Pilot Tests with small craft (shuttles, heavy lifters, guncutters, starfighters, bombers, and so forth).

Ship-Bound Fighter: Living and training on a spacecraft is vastly different than living and training on the ground.
Because of the close-in nature of ships, Battlefleet characters are unaccustomed to fighting in open spaces or on the “dirtside” of planets.
While they are on a planet they suffer a –2 penalty to Initiative Tests and double the Ballistic Skill penalty for firing weapons at Long Range or greater.
These penalties don’t apply to the character if they are inside a tunnel or other confined space.

Born on the carrier The Cradle of Vengeance, Aristarkhos, or Ari to his friends had his life laid out for him from day one. The ship was his home, the ship was his life, and the ship would eventually be his death. Now that almost happened a few times early in his life on his military carrier, involved in some inter-ship conflicts among the various factions that formed from time to time, but he managed to grow out of that turbulent time in time for a fleet including the Cradle to be formed for war against the Orks.

Now of age and selected due to his skill in placement training, the young lad was thrust onto one of the various fighter craft and sent out for patrols, interception, and escort missions, all of which he succeeded in, though at cost due to losing many friends to the enemy Fighta-bommerz and eventually one terrible day, his own ship was crippled, killing many aboard. Eventually coming to port and drinking his troubles away, the lure of a way out from a prospective Rogue Trader caught his eye and he offered his services for a price. Now he’s off piloting something FAR larger than his old fighter… and wondering how the hell his life came to this.

Especially with this group. I seem to once again be the straight man... may the Emperor have mercy on his soul.

When Kallistrate Nicator, of the prestigious-but-cursed Nicator line of Tech Priests, infused her vat-grown son with tissues from a frog-like xenos creature, you'd imagine that son would grow up resentful of her, or perhaps humanity in general. That’s a pretty solid line of reasoning, but unfortunately, you aren’t Remigius Nicator.

Remigius had a wonderful family life when growing up, lavished in praise for his intelligence and appreciating the abilities of his froggy form. He never really wanted for anything that his orbital station could possibly give him, from excellent living qualities to as much research equipment he could ever want. Yet he slowly developed a thirst for adventure, and a desire to accumulate riches of his own. A tear-felt goodbye, and Remigius set off on an adventure aboard the exploratory vessel Inviolable Will, searching for wealth and knowledge in the distant reaches of space. Hopping from ship to ship for reasons he will enthusiastically explain, he eventually ended up with Wenzeslaus.

Remi is a giant weirdo with what sounds like terminal throat cancer.

Mordechai Aurelius Piers Scaevola-Ferraci was born among the spires of the Navigator's Quarter on Holy Terra, during one of House Ferraci's many disagreements with House Belisarius. The first twenty years of his life would be spent almost entirely in the shadow of the Palace of the Navigators, learning the duties and customs of his lineage.

The next twenty would be spent waging vicious trade wars against House Belisarius. Eventually, seeking an end to these constant and pointless drains on the house's resources, Novator Ferraci would task him with a new goal: Secure contracts in the Koronus Expanse and prevent House Belisarius from doing the same. He would serve faithfully in this capacity for several years, until a group of pirates hired by House Belisarius attacked his vessel and left him for dead. His escape pod would drift for three weeks before its beacon was responded to by one Wenzeslaus Dubhthach Evander Gulbrandr Koenigsmann, Rogue Trader and self-proclaimed Pirate. Following a freak accident involving Koenigsmann's Navigator and several tonnes of drive plasma, he would negotiate a charter to serve the Koenigsmann dynasty as thanks for his rescue.

He also has a Psyberskull named Horatio. Horatio has chainsaw teeth and drools venom.

We're basically going to have to coast by on a really good reputation with the Imperial Navy and do our absolute best to never attract direct attention from the Inquisition. The most common line between all our characters is that a good half of us have poor relations with the Ecclesiarchy.

Oh sweet Throne. How the hell am I going to be able to listen to this and the Star Wars campaign logs.
Bring it on I guess, I'll have to find a way.

Can't wait to hear the reasons why a Tau of all races are in the party. I've already given a friend an aneurysm by mentioning it. :D

I'm an arms dealer/pseudo-diplomat. If something feels off, there's a reason for it.

My friend was mostly ranting about the Tau would have no real reasons to work together with Imperials and such. Although that explanation almost works as a reason why.

I'm openly attempting to absorb this Rogue Trader's nascent trade empire into the Tau Empire, and claim a piece of the Expanse in the name of the Tau'va. Good enough?

The tau have tried to work with the Imperium plenty of times.

It's usually the Imperium that has problems with working with the Tau.

Fine for me because it just sounds cool in general. I know for sure I'll be enjoying these episodes considering how much I enjoyed it's predecessor to the point I kept recommending it to other people back when it aired.

There's nothing sneaky about my spying! :v: I'm taking advantage of the current tyranid-fueled ceasefire between the Tau Empire and the Imperium of Man. It lets me be super blatant about claiming technically neutral territory in the name of the Tau'va. Granted, taking Wenzeslaus along with me might be stretching the terms of the ceasefire a bit, but... well. Omelets, eggs.
