Being in the Midwest, a lot of people here are into Country. I don't get the appeal, really, like I don't belong to the subculture at all so I don't identify with it. "If I had money, I'd buy me a boat" or crying into your Bud Light Lime because you're depressed from the State putting a restraining order on you so you can't jerk off your dog on the farm anymore aren't things that resonate with me. If I wanted old time rural America, I'd listen to Folk instead which is IMO a lot better than Country. Still, sell me on Country, GBS!

Current country music is almost completely the same as pop music. There is just a bit of a twang added... It doesn't bother me for mindless listening on long car drives, but it's nothing amazing and people who develop a whole identity based on country music are garbage people.
