Since the Bolts lost last night I'mma go

Bolts in 7
Caps in 6

Stars in 7
Preds in 6

I got:
- DAL/MIN wrong (I am an idiot)
- STL/CHI wrong (this one is excusable)
- ANA/NSH wrong ("")
- LAK/SJS right
- WSH/PHI right (and same number of games too!)
- PIT/NYR right (I had 6 games, I maintain if Lundqvist hadn't been gouged it would've made 6)
- FLA/NYI wrong (I didn't watch enough John Tavares being amazing and godlike)
- TBL/DET right (7 vs 5)

From my next round I'm expecting Chicago, Anaheim, Washington and Florida to advance. So I'm already down to 1/4 and that 1 is looking pretty loving shaky too.

Making you happy for a buck since 199X
Only the Wild prevented me from going 0-4 in the West. Only Matt Murray prevented me from going 4-0 in the East, I picked Rangers in 7 assuming Zatkoff would play all or most of the series. Gee, I guess it's kinda obvious which conference I pay far more attention to :v:

Stars in 6, Sharks in 6, Penguins in 7, Islanders in 5 (I can't prove I made my mind up on this pick before yesterday but you'll just have to believe I did)

My 6-year old's bracket is basically all red X's (Detroit/Chicago SCF... mine and mom's favorite teams), but goddamn was she proud that she picked Nashville over Anaheim.

Then youre really going to hate my bracket (I know I do, but its going to be even year bullshit again). At least my east picks seem like a feel good story outside of old man Detroit winning over an AHL roster Lightning.

I should send this to Benning and see if he will hire me.

Are you related to him? If so you're in.

He got his son a job with the Flames as a scout despite the fact that the entirety of his previous work experience was as a security guard at Nordstrom's.

TBF I mostly picked Philly for comedy. Really didn't think Nashville would pull out a win against the Ducks. And apparently Tavares is all you need to win.

I'm not confident in DAL over STL anymore though.

Islanders and Sharks hosed on me. My West bracket was real bad.

The Stars and Preds were the only correct teams I predicted to come out in the West. Chicago and LA really hosed it over by losing to worse teams.

I had WSH-PHI within one game. I just didn't figure the Flyers would steal two wins rather than one. NYR-PIT, I was counting on the Pens rushing MAF back and fartin out of the 1st round. TB-DET was literally a coin-flip for me. Cats and Isles was all around disappointing.

pens-stars final's gonna have goals for days

My first round's a loving mess. The winners for the Metro were so obvious that even I couldn't screw that up, though I thought playoff Lundqvist would be enough to drag out Pens-Rangers to 7. For Islanders-Panthers I figured it was two teams that weren't great and just picked who I'd rather see advance, and for Wings-Bolts I thought the Lightning's injuries would hit them harder than they did and make the Wings candidates to pull off an unlikely upset. I like the way the Western Conference turned out in reality, but going in I figured the chokers were gonna choke and the teams that have won before would win again. I'm 3/8 now so Dallas and Pittsburgh better save my rear end.

How did Chicago lose to a worse team? They seemed pretty close to me with a slight edge going to the Blues. Its the only series I took seriously and actually got right.

Well the Blues being perennial chokers for one thing and having an inferior roster (to be honest I know probably like 2-3 Actual Good players on the team; I don't follow the Blues) and coach (as Blues posters here would have me believe. Also Tarasenko's ice time lol). Given any season, i would always pick the Hawks over the Blues when it comes to who's gonna come out on top in the end partly because of the reasons I just said and partly because the Hawks can bullshit their way through the postseason. Clearly not the case this year.

Is goals scored in the SCF worth any points, or is it purely a tie breaker?

I literally stopped gaining points after round 1 ended and still finished ahead of 3 people in the SAS group somehow.

For shame.
