I presume the word here is meant to be 'practice'. I can't come up with a funny joke for 'praxis'.

Actually "praxis" means practical knowledge gained from experience, as opposed to theoretical knowledge gained from reading or other hands-off education.

So yeah, missile praxis is they ain't worth it.

Were the Raas trying to stall us with spy manipulation rather than reinforcing their fleet? Or are we potentially getting spy-hammered by someone else entirely?

Right, refresh my memory -- if you and the Raas invade each other at the same time, you won't collide in the spaceways but just pop into each other's systems?

The idea of ground combat sounds interesting. Like, showing up with a tiny fleet and a giant wave of troop transports is an alternative to building a crazy supercarrier, or whatever.

Just, the implementation...

I mean, unless, being silicate intelligences with like no limbs, we were crucially disadvantaged when it came to actual combat power.

It seems like the story of combat here, given transit times and all, is that when you show up to conquer a world you're probably fighting two generations-old spacecraft and if you just keep your ships in place they'll get punched out by whatever the latest prototype is. Is that how it tends to work?
