projector hookups in any conference room/auditorium are 90% chance gonna be vga unless they're very new and even then you rarely see hdmi

still a lot of business laptops with vga for that reason. or in the case of hp's folio series, they toss in a lovely dongle with vga and ethernet that connects to the docking station port

yeah I got a Mac USB to Ethernet dongle and that was just before I built en entire computer to do the job instead
