i volunteer at an animal shelter every once in a while and the cats with aids are like the sweetest and friendliest goddamn cats i have ever seen. cats are naturally assholes, so i dunno wtf their problem is aside from the aids. like hell im ever gonna adopt one of those adorable money pits, though.

I set up comfy little corners for the kitties:   Cringer slipped the surly bonds of his carrier to kiss the face of bacteria:  I didn't even know that stuff was in there. The last tenant must have left it behind. It's gross, so of course Cringer went straight for it.

I sat in front of the cupboard he was hiding in and played with Charlie for a while, and Cringer eventually crept out. Later, he came over to my computer area and purred his head off while I pet him. I'm still pretty sure he's mentally retarded and/or completely emotionally broken, but he's pretty close to being back to "normal" by Cringer standards. When I woke up this morning, Cringer was using one of the cat beds I bought. When I walked by, he ran off, and has been hiding ever since.
