What were Maatta's fancystats like this year? Because honestly he's mostly looked bad with only occasional flashes of good. Today being no exception.

They were good, between 2nd and top pairing according to the tableau graphs guy. He's still got a sweet breakout pass but he has been a little more deferential this year than in previous years, which is fine. He had no chance to really train this offseason as I recall.

Lol i like the idea of zucc trying to "stand up" for lundqvist or whatever, as if hornqvist would stop going to the net as long as he's physically able to skate towards it

So you haven't watched them in the past 3 or 4 months when they have literally the best second period team in hockey and dominate the long changes with extensive zone time which leads them out scoring opponents 3-1 in those periods?

I guess it's the playoffs so new season and all is in the past or whatever, but their 2nd period goal differential this season is something ridiculous like +30

I think it was more the stick in the back of Zuccarellos head that pissed him off (didn't look intentional)

Once again I'm surprised that they played a 1st period in an afternoon game at all. Must've been all the old fucks slowing them down because they used to be hot garbage at those.

Yeah you're probably right. I'm so used to seeing hornqvist get poo poo for standing around goaltenders that it didnt really register that it might have another reason.

And also i felt like being a dick :v:

Is $150,000 even that much money for equipment for a hockey rink? I feel like hockey is probably expensive enough that it wouldn't go especially far...

Sid wouldn't dare insult the hockey gods that way.

Because given how superstitious he is he probably actually believes in them
