LA Beast was the best. His whole fastest man to walk across the US is dumb and will never happen, but I still watch his videos. Sucks for him that people only want to watch him kill himself with gross food, not walk around. Also, he made enough just on youtube to live a comfortable if not extravagant life in California and his videos don't really get that many views, so he has to make more than a couple hundred bucks per million views.

Remember when you could just browse videos? As in, browse and sort all popular videos based on hard numbers instead of the secret google algorithm. Usually by the most viewed for that day, the whole week, or even arrange by most commented. In 2006 this was legit useful, although it began getting swamped over time with eastern european politics, and soccer clips. Still, it was a good snapshot as to what was popping off on the global internet. Then they introduced "popular" videos filter, making the "most viewed" tab no longer the default- but still available! Then the most viewed vids for the day got their own page, called Youtube Charts. Then they erased youtube charts.
