Letang is as good as he is despite not actually having any plus skills besides skating speed exactly because he is so relentlessly balls-to-the-walls aggressive 100% of the time. Svejk is right, unfocused rage is inexhaustible fuel for him.

I feel uneasy/don't care for a lot of the video reviews for offsides, but at the end of the day, he /was/ offsides and the right call was made. I'd rather have a bunch of people angry that the goal got rightfully overturned on review than a bunch of people rightfully upset that their team got hosed by a blown offsides call that led to a goal. Getting a goal overturned is a lovely feeling, but not as rage inducing as getting hosed by the (lack of) refs.

MSG broadcaster: "Kreider is in... against Lovejoy..." Except that he had already blown past Lovejoy, who was no longer in the play. Then after Murray makes the save the MSG guy talks about Kreider's terrific speed. Well... yeah, to the extent 90% of the players in the NHL have terrific speed compared to Lovejoy, sure. Lovejoy's transformation into the New Scuderi is distressingly close to complete.

Penguins incredibly lucky to take a scoreless game into intermission and are going to lose the series if something doesn't drastically change.

Pens did okay. A few too many odd man breaks against but most of them weren't of the breakaway or 2 on 1 variety so I can deal.

I mean to be fair, I'm not sure there are many players that have the top speed of Kreider when he's at full bore. It's amazing how many times D-Men say gently caress this and just immediately turn around and start racing to their net when Kreider is coming at them.

Getting a goal overturned is a lovely feeling, but not as rage inducing as getting hosed by the (lack of) refs. If there was magically some way to only review the ones that are obviously offsides (like a dude is 3 feet offsides) and not the frame by frame bullshit "can you figure out whether his skate was touching the ice inbetween frames!" then that'd make sense but that's not really feasible. Felt like the Rangers ultimately had the better of the play that period but it makes me nervous when they come away empty handed since Pittsburgh can easily score a bunch of goals even if they're being outplayed

The solution is to only allow offsides plays to be reviewed at full speed and give the refs only 30 seconds. If it's not super obvious at full speed that the play was offside then it stands.

He completely legitimately might be the fastest player in the league full out in a straight line, I've seen some absolutely ridiculous poo poo from him that I haven't seen from anyone else in the league including guys like Hagelin, he's just not the kind of player that goes all out all the time
