Just last night I was going through an old backup and found my old "flv to avi" folder, which of course was when youtube first became a thing and not very many programs/devices supported flvs I'd use a few websites/programs to convert them to avis. I mean c'mon, how was I going to watch the Reading Rainbow intro or *insert intro theme from any other 80s/90s show* on my tv? -- The one exception to the rule is with porn. There is so much streaming porn around (a friend told me so anyway) if you go to the effort of downloading porn you must either be extremely picky and want only 1080p bluray 3d rips, your internet isn't stable and who knows when you're going to beat it OR those titties are worth it. To each his own obviously, but moral of the story is yeah downloading stuff is still cool and thankfully it's back to being semi-private and secretive again since it's out of fashion. Running an ftp server off your computer with a folder in the top directory that's just your ICQ number and a 10/1 upload/download requirement for noobs who want poo poo in the requests folder. The smart ones will message you on ICQ to try and negotiate. All games come without cut scenes and music to save space. If you have porn movies of celebrities you can get literally anything else almost instantly in trade.
