Profoundly dull

Shouldn't it be fairly easy to child-proof guns without affecting even the ability of even the most tremulous, frothy NRA paranoid to fire it in a moment of necessity? Like, add a second safety switch you have to depress to fire in a position where tiny hands couldn't reach it?

Gun safety = gun control = will be violently opposed without any compromise by everybody who doesn't want to explain an F rating on the 2nd amendment to his constituents

But then we'd be taking away Donald Trump's Second Amendment rights.

Moralists don't really *have* beliefs. Sometimes they stumble on one, like on a child's toy left on the carpet. The toy must be put away immediately. And the child reprimanded.

lol you think any of these guns actually had the safety mechanism on?

There's already a simple way to keep guns out of the hands of toddlers. Don't set your loving gun down next to a toddler. Unfortunately the venn diagram of "loving idiots" and "loves guns" is a goddamned circle.

This is just par for the course for every conservative "entertainer" who's not actually entertaining. It can't be they're not funny or most people don't want to watch them. It's dastardly liberals and political correctness.

The last two I read about were in cars. Because if there's any place it's hard to secure your gun away from a small child, it's in a car with a row of seats in the front, a trunk or rear compartment in the back, and your kid strapped to a car seat in the middle.

Yeah, he scorched the gently caress out of the press, which was funny as poo poo. My favorite line of his was kind of a throwaway when he's like "Who you killing tonight?" to Obama.

No and his only hope is Trump not having 1237 coming into the convention, which he likely will if he wins Indiana.

Nah, the delegate count is well out of his reach for the first ballot. He's banking it all on rules-lawyering his way to the nomination at the convention.

You folks know it's possible to turn off avatars, right? Rather than go on and on about them?

Meanwhile, the collapse of the GOP has led to hard decisions for everyone's favorite group: College Republicans

http://chronicle.com/article/How-Young-Republicans-on-One/236258

quote:

In the fall of 2014, Mr. Lindsey — now a senior who will graduate next month — along with his fellow student and friend, Ryan Kromsky, founded the University of Maryland Progressive Republican Club. The club — the first of its kind in the nation, they say — is founded on simple principles: conservative economic policies, and a willingness to concede the fight over social issues, in hopes of re-energizing the party and attracting more diverse people to vote Republican. As Mr. Kromsky put it, they "firmly believe in conservative economic policy" and limited government, but they won’t spend time "arguing over abortion."
...
The club has championed LGBT rights in collaboration with Campus Pride and reforms in policing with members of the university’s NAACP chapter. They may not reflect the norm in Republican politics, but members say they are committed to staying in the party.

"If we were to jump ship now, all that does is cede that much ground to the Democrats," Mr. Kromsky said. "We think it’s more important to fight for the change we want to see rather than just to assume that it will happen."
...
The findings of a poll released Monday by Harvard University’s Institute of Politics show that groups like Terps for Trump represent a small number of young conservatives. The poll found 57 percent of young Republicans view Mr. Trump unfavorably.
Also shitheel Trump supporters:

quote:

Shubham Chattopadhyay, a freshman computer-engineering student who is a member of the group, said he was excited to cast his vote for Mr. Trump in Tuesday’s primary. He has enjoyed being politically involved, even if that means venturing out to chalk at 2 a.m. — which the group does to protect members’ personal safety, Mr. Chattopadhyay said.
"There is a lot of backlash against us," he said. "That’s also kind of part of it: We are trying to start discussion. And people are talking about it. I try to monitor it and fan the flames and keep the discussion going."

In fairness, Chait is enjoyable to read when he's dunking on increasingly insane right wing economics/health care/tax reform arguments.

He's spent so long slapfighting with hacks though, it's even more fun to watch him squirm when he picks a fight outside his weight class. Can't wait to see him go at Rem.

We're well on track to maximum chaos. Fresh from Arizona:

quote:

Donald Trump's Arizona campaign chair on Saturday night accused Republican Party officials here of fixing the vote to favor Ted Cruz and his allies after winning only an estimated dozen of the state's 58 national delegates.
Jeff DeWit, the state treasurer, pointed to alleged flaws in the web-based application used by the Arizona GOP to handle the at-large delegate vote, accusing top officials of purposefully squeezing out would-be Trump delegates.

"Trump got cheated," DeWit yelled as supporters around him raged at the results. "Somebody messed with the system."

...

According to a final tally posted on NeverHillary.SimplyVoting.com, Trump led the field with 38.9% of the vote. But the "unity slate" garnered only 2.6% while Cruz and Kasich combined for 42.5%. An additional 16% of the delegates were selected individually. DeWit said Trump yielded only two delegates from the at-large ballot as a result.

The tally was met with sobs from one outraged Trump delegate, who stuck around to wait on the final results. The release was delayed as campaign and party officials met behind closed doors to hash out what was initially described by most involved as a minor hiccup in the process.

So it sounds like Cruz is managing to pack the delegates with his supporters, despite losing in the popular vote.
